NEW DELHI: Congress leader AK Walia (72), who was a minister in Shiela Dikshit cabinet, died of Covid-19 on Thursday.
He was four-time MLA (1993-2013).
Delhi Congress president Anil Chaudhary described the demise as a big loss for the party.
He represented Geeta Colony assembly seat for the first three terms and later won from Laxmi Nagar as Geeta Colony ceased to be an assembly seat after delimitation.
Walia was born and brought up in Delhi. He held an MBBS degree. As minister he held several portfolios including health and urban development.
