Andre De Ruyter: ‘Racism allegations not substantiated by the facts’
An independent probe recently cleared Eskom CEO Andre De Ruyter of allegations of wrongdoing and racism
Eskom’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Andre De Ruyter has said that the independent investigation which recently cleared him of wrongdoing and racism allegations, was a huge distraction to the power utility.
The utility’s former chief procurement officer Solly Tshitangano accused De Ruyter of flouting procurement and recruitment policies – and purging black suppliers in favour of their white counterparts.
Tshitangano himself was dismissed with immediate effect in the previous week, after a disciplinary hearing found him guilty of several charges, including failing to carry out his duties and divulging confidential information to external parties.
