Are college students returning? It varies, administrators say

ZANESVILLE - Local two-year colleges are trying to recruit new students after lower spring enrollment followed an abrupt change for on-campus learning.
"This year might’ve been a little tougher for returning students," said Jason Howard, Ohio University Zanesville director of enrollment. "They knew what the experience was like and they enjoyed it, and all of a sudden when it all moves virtual, there’s a big adjustment."
But it wasn't all bad, Howard said. Remote learning turned out to be attractive to some students, a surprising observation amid mixed reviews for the screens-only classroom approach.
