WAILUKU — Bail was increased to $50,000 for a man who allegedly threw a glass bottle at a stranger and assaulted a police officer before he was arrested Tuesday in Paia town.
Ruben Rosado, 31, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening, harassment, fourth-degree criminal property damage, first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
He appeared by videoconference from the courthouse cellblock for his initial appearance Thursday in Wailuku District Court.
In asking for Rosado’s bail to be increased to $100,000, Deputy Prosecutor Joshua Kent detailed the crimes that started shortly before noon Tuesday when Rosado allegedly threw a glass bottle at a random stranger walking on the sidewalk along Baldwin Avenue in an unprovoked attack.
