The first so called Citizens Jury on assisted dying in england has backed a change in the law to allow people to end their life. The jury of 30 spent eight weeks listening to Expert Evidence and campaigners and concluded it should only be an option for those who are terminally ill and have the capacity to make their own decisions. In reality, it was one of the uks most abusive cults, home to thousands of members who gave up everything to live and toil in its strict communities. Oh, god, i have so many, many sins. The leader, noel stanton, whos been widely accused as a paedophile, died in 2009 before he could be prosecuted. But around a dozen of his followers have been convicted of sex offences, including these two men, for indecent assaults on boys. Now, five years after the group disbanded in disgrace, a Compensation Scheme has identified hundreds of other potential abusers. I was stalked by a paedophile who was laterjailed throughout all of my teens in the church. I remember when i left noticing that i didnt have a knot in my stomach any more. Philippa, who started the survivors group, is among 600 former members to receive a few thousand pounds in damages for harm suffered Injesus Army communities. Its been a lot of heartache for people who havent got the justice they really deserved. Theyve been dismissed and minimised again. And i would never have set this up if id have known how we were going to be treated as victims. Jesus Thejesus Fellowship community trust, which is winding up the affairs of the group, said the now completed Redress Scheme had identified 539 alleged perpetrators of abuse and accepted responsibility for around half that number. Most of them were church leaders. Their details have been passed to northamptonshire police, who have already carried out two investigations into Thejesus Army, and said no further offences have been identified yet. However, any number could present a safeguarding risk, particularly if theyve taken up positions in other churches. Whilst its important that Safeguarding Checks are being carried out, thats not foolproof either because it doesnt necessarily mean that they Cant Move into some other organisation where they could still perpetrate abuse. The provisional verdict is that the merger could lead, the regulator says, to tens of millions of mobile customers having to pay more. They say as it stands they think the deal does have competition concerns. They say the merger could improve the quality of 5g Networks and lead to more investment, but they said these claims are overstated, essentially the companies may be overplaying their hand a bit on this. They have also found, sometimes you are not with the top four, you might be with a smaller company, who dont have their own network, they use the networks that along to the four big ones. It means the companies will have to go aWay and make some commitments and the regulator said in particular they want commitments on a legally binding targets for that investment that the company say would come. Zachary desperately needs a Bowel And Liver transplant and his Mum And Dad are appealing for parents of young children to have difficult conversations about Organ Donation before its too late. Our Scotland Correspondent Catriona renton went to meet the family at their home near glasgow. Zachary, z a C H a r y. Bradford. Sorry, i got it wrong, i guess zachary was born at 28 weeks after his Bowel Perforated in his mum jades womb. He now urgently needs a small Bowel And Liver transplant. His Mum And Dad have been telling his story. Were kind of looking at weeks to months, but more so weeks. And if zachary takes another septiC Hit or catches another infection, then we will be looking at possibly losing him if it comes to that. But youre very strong and youre going to keep fighting, arent you . Zachary had Bowel Surgery when he was born. At the time, doctors said he was the youngest ever to survive this. He had a Liver Transplant last year, but it failed. Hes been diagnosed with liver and intestinalfailure. But hes so small that a new donor would have to be a young child, too. Sadly, now, all thats going to save him is that Liver And Bowel transplant, which isjust, unfortunately, going to need to come from someone, you know, similar to zachary� s size. This has to happen, and it has to happen soon. Yeah, there are countless kids in zachary� s situation, and it can be anyones kid that ends up needing a transplant like this as well. And we would hope that, um, anyone who would be happy for their kid to receive a transplant would also, um, be willing to do that for another child. And as i say, we dont. We dont. Were not underplaying how big an ask that is. We fully appreciate that. Zachary is one of 259 children in the uk waiting for a transplant. For many like him, their only hope is the parents of another child agreeing to Organ Donation at the most difficult of times. So nobody wants to envisage your child dying. But, its important that you do consider about Organ Donation and not really think about it as as death, but thinking about it as giving life so that if tragedy was to happen to anyone in the family, even children, what you would want to do in those circumstances. Zachary and his little brother reuben, who is 20 months old, are the best of friends. The family has goals. His Mum And Dad are hoping to get married soon. People in the North East of england are coming together to honour a man who collapsed during the great North Run on sunday and later died. Sam wealleans became ill when he was just 2. 1 miles from the Finish Line. Later this month, thousands are expected to run that exact distance in his Home Town of newbiggin by the sea. Damian oneill reports. Its still not known what caused an apparently fit and healthy young man to collapse with just over two miles to go on last sundays great North Run. But the shock of his passing has left his family, his friends and the running community both devastated and needing to do something. He was as fit as a fiddle. You just need to look at him. Last year we sent back an estimated £13 billion worth of products. Especially clothes where shoppers buy more so they can check sizes, work out how they look on. That comes at a cost to retailers. And some are now changing their rules. If you buy a lot of clothes from asos you might have had an email. Theyre planning to take aWay four quid from customers refunds if those customers keep less than £40 worth of items. They say its so they can still offer Free returns for most customers. Theyre not the only ones. Boohoo also a Fashion Retailer charges a Flat Rate of £1. 99 for returns. H m they charge the same. But thats for customers who arent a member of its loyalty programme. Retail Analyst Catherine Shuttleworth told us she understands why these charges are being made. One of the reasons that we see very high returns in fashion is that weve got the whole instagram generation, where people are making short films, showing where theyre buying hauls of clothes, theyre using those to drive their social fame, but then theyre sending all the products back and actually never wearing them again. And that level of abuse of the good nature of retailers is something that retailers are saying, look, we cant continue to supply people with products that theyre never going to buy. According to industry research, around a third of the countrys biggest retailers are now charging for online returns. So this could be the new reality for online shopping.
