Bowing to Oil Industry, New Mexico Legislators Advance Bill That Fails to Curb Pollution

Center for Biological Diversity: SANTA FE, N.M.— The House Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Committee voted 6-5 today to pass a Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham-backed bill that would impose modest changes on the oil industry in New Mexico, including increased bonds, but that fails to put in place any environmental or public health protections.
