Co-champion jockey, Dane Nelson, completed a two-timer at Caymanas Park on Sunday with 7-5 favourite CALCULUS who caught REGNANT close home to land the six-furlong Sir Howard Stakes by a half-length.
REGNANT led the 10-horse field from the half-mile under pressure from MINIATURE MAN, KING'S MAGICIAN and BILLY WHIZZ while CALCULUS raced seventh.
CALCULUS mounted his challenge from along the rail as a team with BILLY WHIZZ on the outside, this inside the final furlong.
CALCULUS closed best to collar REGNANT approaching the wire, closing a two-timer for Nelson who had earlier won the fifth event aboard MAMACITA at four furlongs straight.
