Presented by the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corp., and city of Schenectady, the program recognizes service members and military veterans, deceased or living.
Each banner will honor a Schenectady County service member with a display of his or her name, military branch and photo. Banners may be sponsored by individuals or organizations at a cost of $300.
Banners will be displayed on light poles in downtown Schenectady from May through November.
Those who are selected will be notified the week of March 29.
The State Employees Federal Credit Union has been the major sponsor since the program’s inception.
