Three people were arrested on drug-related charges Thursday following a car stop in Assumption Parish, authorities said.
Anita Marie Hoffpauir, 31, of Gray, Bruce J. Knockum, 59, of Napoleonville, and Matthew Joseph Madere, 32, of Plattenville, are each charged in the incident, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
A deputy was patrolling La. 308 in Plattenville Thursday when he initiated a car stop after seeing a traffic violation, authorities said.
The driver, identified as Hoffpauir, was driving with a suspended license and is also wanted on unrelated charges in Lafourche. She appeared “evasive and consistently attempted to distract the officer,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
