If youâve been keeping up with all the latest updates around NASA, you would have already heard about asteroid Bennu by now.
NASAâs OSIRIS-REx spacecraft recently started its long journey back to Earth bringing along samples of the popular asteroid Bennu. NASA also recently gave us a glimpse of what asteroid Bennu really looks like with an out of the world image (pun intended) captured from the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft.
According to NASA, the famous
asteroid Bennu has been around for a long time and has seen over 4.5 billion years of history. It was discovered by the Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) survey on September 11, 1999, and was named by a third-grade student named Michael Puzio in 2013 who won a contest to name the asteroid.
