Shooter has been found dead more answers hopefully. Our Special Coverage continues right now with abby philip. This is cnn breaking news. Straight to the breaking news. The suspect that took place in maine killing 18 people is now dad according to the sheriff. Sources say from an apparent selfinflicted Gunshot Wound to the head. Expecting a News Conference, on the death of the 40yearold robert who is the suspect in this Mass Shooting. He was found in an area near the Recycling Center. Accused of murdering 18 innocent people wounding 13 others. In the small city. It is the deadliest Mass Shooting in the u. S. They share in a nation that sees all too many of these. Straight to the site of where this body was found. Correspondent ryan in lisbon, maine. Tell us about where you are, what this area is like. It is pitch black now but what is it like in the daylight. Reporter this is kind of a small part of the town. It is kind of a strip mall kind of area but there are woods behind me here. This is the area where we believe he was found dead. You can see they are taking this very seriously. Two Police Officers manning either side. What we believe is the site behind this walgreens over here down the street and according to our sources he was found in the wooded area right near the recycling facility. That facility again almost certain is down here in the darkness behind that walgreens. The police heavily protecting it. Again all of these officers with tactical weapons making sure nobody gets anywhere near there. This is the area again stressing we know he worked at the recycling. A couple of different facilities that are grouped close together. He was fired from that job recently. Again the various accounts throughout the week from colleagues. One colleague at the center did tell another outlet about him behaving erratically. Some of the coworkers concerned about him. This is where he worked down here where he lost his job recently. That is where he was found. This is an area that has some significance. I believe his vehicle was found in that area but also this is where he once worked. Had police been searching in that area prior to today . We do know they have been our team our colleague was here. The Police Rushed the journalists away from that area. They were searching this area yesterday. The body was discovered the big question is how long has it been there. It leads you to ask some questions. But that is what we know we know they were searching that area. One of our colleagues who was here yesterday did report that boat landing close to where he left his car is a fairly short walking distance from this area. Kind of coming into this area. Some kind of a Walking Trail. So not too far away from that. It looks maybe if you put all of that together maybe he did not go too far. Maybe we will get some details. Brian standby for us. Senior correspondent, who was at this Press Conference that is set to begin any moment. You have been in this area this week as this manhunt has unfolded. You were at this site, around the time police were searching can you give us more of a sense of how large is that area . Frankly or eight hours later that seems to be a prime potential location. Are you surprised to see they found him there . Yeah i am surprised. We know that police were in that area. Searching around 3 00 in the afternoon. Ready to do a live shot when right where brian is standing when police warned that area they closed off the street. We tried to get up the block they would not let us up the street. They were searching an area. We were told by a Law Enforcement officer on the ground there was a building connected to the suspect that they were searching. It all happened around the time when we were getting indications that police were searching the suspects home they may have found the note. Which then led them to this location. The one thing i want to say is today as more Law Enforcement officials converged on the area, more reinforcement, more officers came in they started searching deeper into the woods. I think perhaps this is what led to this discovery. More of an outside search. I do not know perhaps that is one of the things. Today they certainly stopped up many of the searches. Deeper into the woods, we actually me and my team we walked along the trail going from the boat launch to a trail that actually leads into this Recycling Area which he could have easily taken once he dumped his car and walked over to this area. Clearly police knew about this area they had some information that he was connected to this area. They went back today. Obviously this is the information we are getting. Hopefully this Press Conference will start soon. People are shaking hands many of the officials the mayor is here behind me. Other officials who have been here every day. There is a sense of relief here tonight that i have not seen or felt since i have been here. People are smiling something about this has certainly changed the mood here. One part of this is over. We are now onto the next part of course the grieving. There is a sense of relief here that you can feel people for the first time are smiling. We are waiting for more officials to come here. Many folks here this news has caught them by surprise. That is why this Press Conference is going to be delayed. People Who Revere Searching who have been leading these agencies. But two things very important obviously the threat for this community for the people who live in lisbon, who have been suffering greatly. The people suffering greatly because this happened in the community they can put some of this fear behind them and begin to get together, remember those who were killed here and get together as a community to grieve. That is the next step here abby. Absolutely. I want to tell those watching we are waiting a News Conference right now. In the massacre that occurred in maine the suspect has been found that authorities about to brief us. We have been given a warning, for this to begin. In the meantime i want to go to john miller for a moment. Your sources told you that the suspect had been found dead can you give us an indication about the timing here . Something that just occurred or were they not sure whether they had found their guy . We understand this happen somewhere in the area of 8 00. The Burning Question Abby is is this something where he apparently selfinflicted Gunshot Wound and did that happen today . Or is this a place where he went that was outoftheway enough that he had been there for some time. That is one of the questions we are anxious to learn the answer to. It tells us whether he has been hiding. Or whether this happened in a more rapid succession. He does the shootings at the two locations he drives to the end of our road, in a wooded area. On the other side of that river, in a place where it is familiar to him. So how did he get across that river if that information is accurate. Some of the things we are waiting to hear. Quite a lot of questions unanswered here. Including this is an area that has some residents to the suspect. Similarly the locations. Someone who has been in Law Enforcement for long time does it surprise you that this location ultimately was where he was found that it was not pretty thoroughly searched very early on in this process to see if he was there . That is a good question. One question is what did the river have to do with it . On the idea he might have been moving on foot or did they expand to that other area. But to get to the core of the beginning of your question if you look at the characteristics. You see that most of these are kind of grievance driven. Grievance at work or grievance at school, grievance with a Social Circle feelings of rejection. So if you kind of look at this case and break it down, he had a Mental Health episode in the army where he said he was Hearing Voices and hearing things that made him think about hurting other soldiers. That ended up with him under psychiatric evaluation. Suffering from likely depression, sounds like paranoia. Other Mental Health issues at that time. Then he loses his job. We understand where he was found may have been in the vicinity of the place where he lost that job we are told by sources he broke up with a woman he had been in a relationship with. If you take that grievances he had a problem with the national guard, a problem at work that caused him to lose that job. Relationship issues that caused his relationship to breakup. Where does he go . He goes out in the town where he was a part of the fabric, to the places where he had been before. With the person he was having a relationship with and he strikes out. In some ways much less than a ministry almost a case study about the active shooter what the mass shooter looks like based on prior cases and indicators. Including that as you are reporting, this was believed to be a death by a selfinflicted Gunshot Wound. I want to come into the studio, Senior Justice Correspondent Evan Working Sources on the story all week. Evan this Press Conference that is about to begin this might be a time where we hear a lot more about this investigation. Now that he has been found, obviously found deceased i think a lot freer to provide details. We know they were searching this area how long, when did this happen. You know we know they searched this area thoroughly. As they were doing the initial searching. The question is was he somewhere in the woods, then finally ended this. A lot of this that matches up with what we have seen. We have had so many of these things. For those of us, a few others, we have done so many of these we almost know the script. This one has been a little different, two scenes of shootings, he also gets away for some period. That is unusual. The question that we have, a little more about this investigation and what they have been able to determine. And perhaps more about his connection to these two places where he carried out this massacre. It is clear he knew these two places and had a lot of connections. We are going to listen into this Press Conference. Thank you very much for coming. On short notice. I stand here tonight to simply report that the police have located the body of robert. He is dead. I have called the president to inform him about this news, the senator, representative, representative golden. Commissioner will describe the circumstances of that discovery in some detail. In a few moments. This discovery is entirely thanks to the hundreds of local state and federal Law Enforcement members from all over and people from other states as well. People who searched tirelessly to arrive at this moment. On behalf of all i want to express my profound gratitude for their unwavering bravery and determination and fortitude and for the leadership of the police chief. That guy. Police chief. Like many people i am breathing a sigh of relief tonight knowing that robert is no longer a threat to anyone. I know some people many people who share that sentiment but i know his death may not bring solace. Too many. Now is the time to heal. With this search concluded, i know that Law Enforcement continues to fully investigate all of the facts so we can bring what closure we can to the victims and their families. I ask all people continue to keep those families and all of the people impacted by this tragedy in their thoughts and prayers. It is a special place. This is not us, it is a great place a Close Knit Community of fine people, people with a long history, history of hardware, of persistence of faith of opening its big heart to people everywhere. Tonight the city, the state of maine, begin to move forward on what will be long and difficult road to healing but we will heal. Together. Thank you again my deepest gratitude gratitude of all the people of the state of maine, to these wonderful members of Law Enforcement who came from all over to help us solve this crime and put closure on this investigation. Robert is dead. Now i am going to turn it over to the commissioner. Thank you very much. We truly do appreciate all of your support, incredibly important that the next person that speaks this evening is lewistons police champion, that is dave. Thank you. Thank you governor for allowing me this opportunity. Bear with me please i do not have much time to prepare a speech. I want to say to everybody thank you so much our community can now breathe a sigh of relief as the governor stated. Our work again is not done here, i was very elated when i got the call from the commissioner advising me of the revelation of what took place. No longer a threat to our community or any other community. I do not want to forget the families that are grieving. The Law Enforcement officials that have worked tirelessly to come to a good conclusion. Our men and woman of all of our surrounding agencies, chief mcgee from lisbon. Important all of us that this conclusion came to light tonight. We are going to grieve for the families that lost loved ones. Continue to work, persevere. We become better people for it in terms of working together as teams. We have learned a lot from some mistakes. A lot of accomplishments this evening. I was not really prepared for this but i am very happy to be here very happy to say the threat is over. Thank you. So our offices are being notified now as we speak some sooner than others. Many that are still home i am quite certain we all know about this. Something that all of our Law Enforcement personnel, has been paying close attention to waiting positive news. This is by far the best news we have had in quite some time. And he believed the suspect was dead before finding him . So reality hear the search has been extensive, it has been nonstop since the minute we started speaking with you. All of these options are on the table. We continue to search locations. Some cases multiple times. We will have more information about how this went down. Another briefing tomorrow morning at 10 00. Please encourage you to think about next steps, information that you would find important. I will say this is not going to be a long question and answer this evening. We wanted to make sure we got this information out. The time between that notification of the Press Release and now there wasnt a lot of details because we wanted to talk to the victims families. Important that they heard that information as close to first as anybody else. The family of the suspect. They lost a loved one in this scenario. Many of that family that was very cooperative throughout. They deserved that phone call. We had those conversations before joining you. Sometime with the brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement that have been so helpful over the last few days. To say the least. One second. Right here, sir. Where exactly . 7 45 this evening. I will not give you an exact address. It was where the river in lisbon falls. Did you have a question . When do you think he died . That all remains to be seen. We found that body, continues to be a lot of work that needs to be done at the scene with the medical examiners office. Much more followup to what happened. Did you have a question . I will not be able to answer at this point. We have had no indication of that since the very beginning. As we have talked about before these next steps are going to give us an opportunity to do things as fast as we can. Also slow things down a little bit. We need to look at video evidence. Various pieces of technology. Hopes that gives us additional information. He was found at the center. Searched previously . Possibly fired. I am happy to take a look at that information in hopes i can get that back to you tomorrow morning at 10 00. That remains to be seen. I am going to take a couple more questions. It is 10 00 tonight we do want to come back tomorrow morning. Shelter in place this afternoon. Looking for remains or how did you make that decision . I think that was an ongoing conversation. Since the minute we put that in place. Certainly from our perspective it made complete sense. Based on the violent nature. As things progressed. Since one day to now a lot of conversations with the various town and city leadership with the governors office. With business owners. We have to have that balancing act. We had that surge with those communities. As things tended to slow down we did not have any immediate threats. I also want to mention this, the commissioner said and passed along that Hunting Restriction has been lifted as well. The Resident Hunting Opportunity for tomorrow is open across the state of maine to include those four communities. Right here, maam. Yes i can confirm that apparent selfinflicted Gunshot Wound. Explain why he was only found this other time . I did not state we searched that area before. Okay. As we have stated in the past we try to use information that we can confirm. We can talk about that again tomorrow morning. I think were done taking questions for this evening. We will see you soon. Thank you very much. Just listening to three different officials including the governor of the state, janet speaking. Commissioner michael. He provided a little bit of information though not a huge amount of information tonight they will be briefing again tomorrow morning. The suspect was found according to the Public Safety commissioner at 7 40 5 00 p. M. Tonight he was found near the river not very far from where his vehicle was originally found. They would not provide information because the investigation is ongoing about whether the suspect was found dead and actually died today still waiting to learn about when he actually died. They did confirm it was via a selfinflicted Gunshot Wound. Back to our own john who first reported this. Not a huge amount of detail about the way her and the how of how this came about. The remarks we just heard. What we do know and what we do not know at least as of tonight. What we do know is he died of an apparently selfinflicted Gunshot Wound. The word apparently that body is still at the scene. The medical examiner is going to examine that scene. Make his or her own determination on cause of death. It is entirely likely that will be the case. We also learned it was in lisbon falls along the banks of the river. That is at some point the back end of the Recycling Center where he once worked where we are told he was discharged fairly recently. That could go to explain if he took his own life why he picked that spot and what it meant to him. That is basically what we learned. The things we do not know is it he showed up in that spot today having invaded police for almost 2 days. Did he take his own life right there or did he do that right after the shootings. The commissioner and the chief did not address that they probably will not be able to until the examiner really examines that body. Some judgment about how long that body has been in that place. That is exactly right. They seem to be just really pretty fresh off of this. I want to explain to our viewers what we heard, authorities said that they withheld this information for a couple of hours to notify Family Members of the 18 victims of the shooting the 13 others injured. As well as the family of the suspect. I want to go back. Asking a lot of questions trying to get quite a few answers. I see your frustration. Tell us what you learned and what we still need to learn about what happened here. Reporter certainly we need to learn whether or not this location was searched yesterday. We were there yesterday. Questions about what transpired here during their search yesterday. Did they go in to this area we know we were there yesterday we saw them searching this area. For whatever reason may be the commissioner did not have the answers to this. All of this is put together late. The Police Department chief was here it was his team that was back there in this area searching yesterday. We wanted to ask those questions. They do not want to answer those questions tonight. They notify the families or most of the families before they announced this i think that has been probably an incredible moment for these families to hear from the commissioner from the Law Enforcement officials before they have to hear it from us here in the press and the media. I also think today was incredible to watch the Law Enforcement officials announced the names of the victims where they took the names and the attached photos to the names. I have never seen that done before from Law Enforcement officials. It is good to see that they are being respectful of the families here. Still a lot of questions that need to be answered in terms of the circumstances surrounding this and you know theyve been trying to control the message and we get it they have not wanted to answer certain questions. The investigation is over. There is no prosecution of an individual. That individual is dead so hopefully, tomorrow at 10 00 a. M. , supposed to have their next Press Conference they will be able to answer some more questions. We were showing moments ago the images of the victims of this horrible tragedy. I want to take a moment obviously interested in learning as much as we can about what happened. Remembering these individuals. Normal day for them at a restaurant and Bowling Alley turned into a nightmare and their families are broken, this news tonight for this community is just a mixture of emotions. People are terrified they have been locked in their homes for two days now. Now we know today that man that suspect is dead. Died by suicide. I want to go down to andrew, former director of the fbi. Andrew, you and i have spoken about this, the chances of someone being on the loose for 48 hours, in an area like this really raised a lot of questions about what could the possibilities be. Are you surprised to learn that his body was found, where it was found in an area that has it is awarded but there are things around it, other facilities, what does that tell you . You know were still kind of left guessing about the significance. Hopefully some of that will get cleared up tomorrow morning at the next press. Really interesting location for this to have come to an end. Only about a mile between the recycling facility where he worked and the paper mill trail. Miller park area where the boat launch is located. On the smaller river that leads into the river. There is a trail that runs along the river, about a mile in length between the boat launch and the Recycling Center. So you know again we are theorizing here because we do not have been given many facts to work with, it is a wooded area but as you said it is boarded by some streets some industrial facilities. The high school is not far away there are some wooded areas in there. Right along the river possible he took that trail ride from the parking lot and walked one mile to the vicinity. If that is the case he certainly picked a spot that had the same sort of personal supplicants. Recycling center, he used work there. For me the thing that really rings is the last lead that we had on his location was the night of the shooting the location of his vehicle. That is where the trail stopped. The very logical place where you would continue to look out in every direction. In a Walking Trail that leads off of that parking lot. Certainly would be a logical place to invest. I am going to have to interrupt you. At the site of the Press Conference with the chief of lisbon police. Reporter so chief your guys were out there searching tell me what happened today. So what i am going to say is we had an awesome response, local, state and federal officers across the board. That is paramount. We all heard the message from the department of Public Safety. We are going to allow that to come directly from him. The biggest thing is we really all need to come together. Think about the families and the victims. We have a Great Community. Maine is a great state. Moving forward it has been a long day for all of you. As far as all of the details, tomorrow. I was there this morning at the supermarket, people were in tears inside out of fear. What have you been hearing from your community . That we have a Great Community that is going to stick together. Personally been on numerous calls, people care about what goes on. It is all the counties, surrounding towns. Maine is a great state. Now you are going to see maine pull together and not be known for this horrific act. A Family Taking Care of each other. We were at this area. You have been everywhere. Every backyard i have been. Thank you. I have a question for you. This area your team searched some of this area. I am not going to get into any details. I am going to leave it at this. Everybody be thinking about the families of the victims keeping them in thoughts and prayers. So abby, as i was saying earlier this is an area that we were at yesterday with the chief we saw him. We had interaction. He was throwing us out of the area. He told us to leave. Where they found the suspect dead today. There is the sense of relief. Not only here but also in lisbon because the People Living there have been stuck in their homes for the past two days. Supermarkets closed, pharmacies they cannot go to their doctors. It has been a difficult two days. I spoke to a woman today we went to the supermarket to get food ourselves, the lines were incredible to the back every lane of the supermarket to the backfield. The fear that people were facing they could buy food. People were in tears over the fear they were feeling. This news for them is a relief. We walked in, people were shaking hands they were smiling. The next steps here. Highlight something that is important. Some of the victims for the victims are part of the community. The hug to the sign language interpreter. This community, has been released so deeply traumatized and affected by what has happened here. A very touching moment for the governor to give a hug to the sign language interpreter. I think just the sense of relief here that really is unspeakable for the first time in so many days people can finally smile. I think that is important to highlight. Hopefully in the coming days they can all get together. We move on here onto the investigation. On to the healing. Thank you for pointing that out. On the scene of all of these moments in the story. Continue to stand by we will be back in a moment. And then, obviously very eager to move forward. Almost a smile on the chiefs face of relief from all of this. But this is a community that is going to be seeking answers. If you live in lisbon the last known location as andrew was saying of the suspect, on wednesday night. His vehicle was found. So tell us about the resources that were brought. Wasnt just the state resources, how do they Work Together in this moment. Even still it took 48 hours to find this body. A sense of how difficult this was. You have been to this area. Talking about a very big state. This is an area where there is a lot of places for you to hide a ton of Law Enforcement that descended on this area. This guy was able to hide. We do not know when this happened. The fact it happened in this area. This is now coming to fruition. A lot of questions that are going to happen. A lot of questions the officials need to answer. Plenty of signs that this man was troubled. Definitely some medications he was evaluated by Mental Health people in maine. Who allowed him after a short evaluation to leave and then apparently he decided or he said essentially the threats he had been making that caused that evaluation, really just him lashing out and that there was nothing wrong. Some questions that have to be answered about whether there could have been something that could have been done that could have prevented the deaths. Likely that some of these victims knew him or have seen him before. Of course the gun purchases. Standby for us. The officials mentioned these families that are hurting tonight. 39yearold peyton ross, participating in tournament at the bar and grill on wednesday. He leaves behind a daughter. Peytons brother, ralph joins me now. Ralph, first want to say and offer to you my deepest condolences for the loss of your brother. I am sure your family is experiencing so much tonight but what are you feeling right now . How are you doing . Another hard moment in this entire story. You know we were not expecting any of this this just happened as it does with any of these. You know there is no script for this. No way to prepare yourself. Not just my family 17 other families that are going through the same thing. It is hard. But you know the fact that you know the Law Enforcement has brought this part of the journey to a close you know yes, theres going to be a lot of answers that are going to be made and figured out but we can breathe. People can go out again, people can start living again without the fear that he is around the next corner. We appreciate all of the hard work by all of the Law Enforcement. All of the Law Enforcement that came out. We are going to need to continue on. Did you receive a phone call from officials . They mentioned reaching out to the families in this tragedy. So we were notified tonight before the Press Conference by the Attorney Generals Office at the state of maine. They let us know you know that the gunmen had been found dead. And you know that helped us to really understand and begin to move to that next step. We appreciate that again we appreciate everything that they have done. During this hard time. Your brothers daughter, i do not know how you tell twoyearold about Something Like this how is your family handling that . You know woke up on wednesday morning and dad is usually there, her first her first words to mom was wheres daddy . Wheres daddy . Shes a big time daddys girl. And shes not going to have him in her life. And, yeah, how do you go through, and how do you tell a 2ye 2yearold . I dont even i cant even comprehend that. I dont have an answer. Were going to have to go thou this together as a family and figure it out, but one thing is that were were here for rachel. Were here for elle. Were here for everybody within our family and beyond. The thing is this has brought all these families together, you know, for this terrible event, and were forever linked. Theres and even the families that were wounded and the ones that were there and helped, theyre forever scarred with everything that went on here today. And im going to miss my brother. Im sure every other family is going to miss their loved ones. Its just in another senseless act of violence. Ralph, my heart breaks for you and your entire family. And the community in maine right now, its so much loss for a place that is so small and so tightknit. Its hard to even imagine, but thank you for being here. I hope that sis a moment for you and your family that you can as you just said move to the next phase of this process. Thank you for joining us. Thank you, abbey. I want to go now to omar jimenez on the ground in this grieving community of lewiston, of lizten, other neighboring communities right now. Omar, you just heard what ralph said about this town and everyone now connected in this absolutely horrible way holding onto get through this. What are you hearing from people sheltering in place to learn the suspect is dead but they now have to bury their loved ones . Yeah, i mean, look, one thing that has been made clear just over the past few days talking to people here its not just Everybody Knows everybody. People also know people that know everybody. It is that tightknit of a community where it feels like one thing happens. And when the news initially broke, were outside the bar and grille which is the second site of where this Mass Shooting happened. A car tried to get through this checkpoint and obviously still closed because they continue to process the scene. He said that he left his car over there, he was inside this bar when it happened. And when we asked if he just wanted to talk about it, even in the midst of he knew that the manhunt was over at that point, he said he was just too traumatized by what happened, and thats a lot of what weve seen here. Obviously it is a sigh of relief just like what we heard from officials that this manhunt is over and that they dont have to look over their shoulders quite as much as they have over the past 48 hours, but theres a much longer process ahead for many of these families because while at least 18 people were killed here, as one resident told me today, he wanted to remind me and everyone covering this that this isnt just a number of people, these are individual lives and individual wants, dreams, hopes, desires, hopes, and everything in between. And while its 18 people who lost their lives, the lives that are destroyed and changed forever, that ripple from those may be too much to count, and those are the lives that are going to be forever altered as we move forward here when you look at the total number of victims. As one of my colleagues noted, Josh Campbell, throughout the manhunt, weve been showing the picture of the suspect of course it was important to make sure people could find and potentially recognize this person. But then now this next phase again as my colleague Josh Campbell noted, a lot of the focus moves to the faces of these victims, the faces that will live on in this community and should and many other communities for much, much longer than this period has happened. And one other thing i want to note is that in this Press Conference we learned that the body was actually found at 7 45 p. M. Tonight, and then the notification didnt come out until hours later. And what Law Enforcement told us is that in that in between time, they were notifying the families of the victims of this to make sure they have this news but also the family of the suspect as well to make sure they have it. Omar, thank you very much. I want to go now to Congresswoman Shelly who represents the district lisbon where the suspect was found. Congresswoman, thank you for voning us. Your reaction tonight to the discovery of the body of the suspect at 7 45 p. M. Tonight, almost 48 hours exactly after he carried out this mass murder. Well, theres so much relief in maine, and people are so grateful to all the Law Enforcement officers who have really been covering this territory and beyond just to make sure that this person was found. So its a really critically important night. And as you were saying, it allows people to move from the fear of just stepping outside, get rid of the lockdown, and be able to start the grieving and really honor those families. There can be a vigil. There can be funeralsch there can be the kinds of things people need to start the grieving process. Its very important day for us but its going to take a long time. We didnt think we were in a state this was going to happen and its really shattered a lot of peoples lives. Tell me more about that because maine is i mean, there were more murders in this incident than the state has in an entire year. And i think a lot of people in maine maybe they hunt, they use guns in other ways, but as you just said perhaps never thought this could happen there. What happens now Going Forward in your state . Yeah, i mean youre absolutely right. Last year we had 29 murders, this was 18. So literally almost as many as we had in an entire year in one evening. And we are were a gun owning state. We have a proud tradition of hunting. Tomorrow is actually the first day of hunting season, and it was going to be stopped in the communities near where the murders occurred because of people believed there could be some danger of being in the woods. Now the first thing is people can actually go hunting tomorrow which is an important part of our culture and our lives. But because we had so much gun ownership, we never thought we would have the kind of, you know, shooting that takes place in other places, but this is a reminder to all of us thathat no one is immune, no community is immune. My district is actually on the border here of lisbon and lewiston, but portland, maine, most of the communities in my district have shutdown for two days as well. Bowdoin where the suspect lived, people in my district thats been a scene where police have been searching house and looking for everything. So those things can stop, people can go back to normal. But this has really impacted our entire state because its such an occurrence we never thoughted would happen here. And having this shooter people believed was on the loose has caused great fear in our state. Thank you for joining us tonight on this breaking news. Thank you so much. I want to quickly go now to casey jordan, a criminologist and behavioral analyst. Your reaction to someone who studies these types of incidents. Well, of course ive been covering this for the past 48 hours like everyone else, and i noted a shift this morning in the 10 00 a. M.
