LISBON — A Columbiana area man who physically assaulted a good samaritan and took a power saw to his pickup truck, was sentenced to 20 months in prison Thursday by Common Pleas Judge Scott Washam.
Ross Chaplow, 39, of West Park Avenue, said he was truly sorry and was not a violent person. He claimed it was the LSD and crystal meth that caused him to act the way he did.
Instead of the 20-month sentence being requested by Assistant Columbiana County Prosecutor Alec Beech, Chaplow and his defense attorney Chris Amato were asking for help through an inpatient drug addiction facility.
