Committee discusses adding part-time position, TIF contract

MACOMB — The committee of the whole on Monday discussed adding a permanent position to the wastewater department, a contract for the downtown TIF district, and the purchase of the former Kmart building among other items under discussion.
The decision to consent to the Macomb Wastewater Department adding a permanent part-time position was moved to the consent agenda for Monday, July 19, 2021. hours per year.
The Wastewater department currently has a budgeted seasonal position which is limited to 999 hours. A part-time position would enable an employee to work year-round with 1200-1600 hours and a higher pay scale in order to attract someone who is more qualified. This position is expected to pay $25-30K/year for 25-30 hours of work per week.
