HOPEDALE – Classes for elementary and high school students will remain remote until at least Jan. 19, due, in part, to rising COVID-19 cases in the buildings.
“I absolutely don’t take the decision lightly,” Hopedale Superintendent Karen Crebase said. “With our numbers as high as they have been …. I believe it is the safest thing to do.”
As of Thursday, COVID-19-positive cases in the district included three staff members and 10 students at the high school and three staff members and eight students at Memorial Elementary School.
In-person classes were suspended for the high school last week, and the elementary school this week.
