Preteens and younger teens with an interest in criminal justice will be eager to get involved in a program offered this summer at Carl Sandburg College. Students ages 11-14 that fancy themselves as super sleuths can take part in a criminal justice summer youth program hosted by Sandburg's Corporate and Leisure College. Get a Clue takes place July 27 and 28 at Sandburg's Main Campus in Galesburg and is led by instructor and coordinator of criminal justice programs Chris Barber. The registration deadline is July 13. Early camp registration cost is $30 and will include a t-shirt. Students may continue to register for $30 after the deadline; however, a t-shirt may not be provided. Participants will learn about the process of collecting evidence, fingerprinting, fingerprint dusting, sketching, casting, and investigative techniques used in criminal investigations through hands-on activities. To sign up for the program or for more information, contact Sandbrug's Corporate and Leisure College at (309) 345-3501 or email community@sandburg.edu. Registration forms are also available online at Sandburg's website. This is one of several summertime programs being offered this summer both at Sandburg's Main Campus in Galesburg and Branch Campus in Carthage, including the Shakespeare Theater Camp June 14-18, Manufacturing & STEM Camp July 19-23, and String Art on July 24.
