President trump thank you very much. King solomon expressed sincere condolences and give his sympathies to the families and friends of the warriors who were killed and wounded in the attack that took place justry cently, just this morning in pensacola, florida. The king said that the saudi people are angered by the barbaric actions of the shooter, and that this person in no way, shape or form represents the feelings of the saudi people who love the American People so much. So that was just given to me by the king of saudi arabia. And i can tell you its a horrible thing that took place. And were getting to the bottom of it. All of the investigators are there now. And theyre studying it very closely. A terrible thing. And our condolences go to the families and to everybody involved, including the wounded. We have some badly wounded people also. And we have to extend our condolences to them. And well be working with them all very closely. I just want to let you know that was from king solomon. Talk toy, were here to some of the very hardworking citizens who are benefiting from our historic Record Campaign to reduce job killing regulations. The market is up 325 points. The numbers are phenomenal. Some people said so spoton, so good, that theyve actually never seen anything like it. Its a long way from where people were rooting for a recession because they thought maybe they could win an election. We dont root for a recession. We root for success. Were having tremendous success. I want to thank Vice President mike pence who is here, right here. Mike, thank you as well as jeanne scalia, the director and the rest. Thank you very much. Its been an incredible period of time economically for our country. Probably the best ever. We have the best unemployment numbers in over 54 years. We have the best numbers for africanamericans. This came out today. Africanamerican, hispanic, asianamericans. Numbers for women are at a record number. If it keeps going like this it ill be very shortry be historic. Nobody would have believed it. Frankly in the campaign, i would have never said it. But i felt we were going to do very well. Thats despite the fact that were paying interest to people that have their money in the bank. So they have a great competitive advantage. Were by far and away the most successful economy anywhere in the world. Were doing better than any other economy in the world. And you know, weve created many trillions of dollars of wealth since the election. Other countries have lost many trillion yons of dollars. Were by far the largest economy in the world. And that was going to change for many years they were saying that was going to change. We were going to go to number two during this presidency. That was years ago. And i guess that the wrong president got elected from the standpoint that theyre a lot of people very unhappy about it. So they wish they certainly think it was the wrong president. They would have rather have had somebody else because theyre not number one. Were number one. Were so far ahead that people cant even believe it. So weve had tremendous success. Weve had it to. This has been a great group of cabinet members and the member in the administration have done a really good job. It was just reported that we added another 266,000 jobs in november. And weve also had very favorable numbers outside of the 266th including some of the past numbers that have been corrected in a very positive way also. So we have 266,000 jobs. Plus, weve created seven million jobs. Unemployment is at the lowest rate as i told you in many years and many ways we can say very soon say historically, a record a 58 million americans are now working that tease largest number in the history of our country. Weve never had 158 Million People working. And we should be breaking the 160 million magic mark fairly soon. The stock market today as you know is up 325. Weve hit another record high. I believe thats 128 times Something Like that that weve broken the record, the alltime record for stock market highs. And think of that. About 128 times. And weve been here for less than three years. So and that i can tell you is a record. 2. 5 million americans have been lifted out of poverty. Africanamerican, hispanicamericans, asianamericans in the poverty levels have hit record lows. Thats something people didnt think possible. Theyve all hit record lows. Were delivering prosperity to forgotten men, women and children of america. We are seeing a middleclass boom led by blue collar jobs. Thats one of the things that is so great. Great workers of our country there. Theyre benefiting tremendously with what weve done with the tax cuts and all of the other things weve done. And very big are the regulation cuts because even before we were able to get the tax cuts so successfully from congress, we started cutting regulations immediately, and that had a big impact. So much s why we got from the election victory. The day after the election up until january 20th, the inauguration, the stock markets d jobs literally went through the roof. If they would have gone through the floor it would have been a disaster. Boosting 401 savings accounts and pensions at record lelvets. Weve added 10 trillion helping the small businesss that create 23 new jobs. Nearly every single state has seen record numbers. I can tell you every state ive been to in the last three months is having the best year theyve ever had. And thats because of the federal poll schism and policy. And the governors are very thankful. The senators are very thankful. Theyre all very thankful. So things have happened that no one thought it was possible. But literally every state i go to have set records every single state. And its because of our actions not because of their actions. This i can tell you because their actions are very negative. California is doing much better than anyone anticipated because of what weve done at the federal level. So very happy about that. Next year, we will continue our deregulatory campaign. Things to ove costly make car mrs affordable. The dispute with california, california in order to save a tiny amount of fuel of which we have plenty, we have numbers that nobody would have ever believed possible. Were the Largest Energy producer in the world. And were an exporder of energy for the first time in our history, really. But question make cars much less expensive, much better, much stronger, and about the same from an environmental standpoint, very close. But then, when you realize that many old cars will be taken off the road because they dont want to get rid of them because they dont want to buy the new cars because frankly, they dont work very well. That little you take that. Sometimes its a its about that much gasoline. Its a difference between 3,500, extra computers put on the engines and all the other things that you have to do. But our cars are much safer. Theyre much cheaper. Theyre much better. And the reason theyre safer is because they can be heavier because right now, the cars are made out of paper ma shay. And ours are actually we allow steel content. So people are getting very excited about it. We have some good support with the auto companies. The only one who is dont support the Car Companies that want to be politically correct. Well end up in some litigation with california. But just remember, our cars are safer, and that are much safer, by the way. And theyre better. They operate better. And in every way, we think its going to be terrific. We have a loft support from the car industry. Youre talking about a savings of 3,500 on average per car. Thats a tremendous saving. One of the other things from the environmental standpoint, many of the old gas guzzlers that are spewing off bad things are coming off the road. Cars that are 10 years old and older, people will be going to the new cars because the pricing is better. And the net result what happens environmental is a very positive result. Because a lot of ole cars will come off the road. They wont come off the road with the california standard. So you a better car with less money. And it will be safer. Well end the regulatory assault on franchise and businesses which a lot of female around the table want to do, because theyre very, very strongly affected. Well provide greater Financial Freedom and flexibility for u. S. Trirks. The Trucking Industry has gotten out of control. You might want to say a few words about that in a minute. But its gotten out of control. They got rid of the lightbulb. The new bulb is many times more expensive. And i hate to say it, it doesnt make you look as good being a vain person, thats very important to me. [laughter] it gives you an orange look. I dont want an orange look. Has anyone noticed that . So well have to change those bulbs, at least a couple of rooms where i unanimous the white house. But were going back to the to double standard. We have a standard of the new bulbs. And we have the old bulbs. And theyre already making the old bulbs. Many people were complaining that the new bulbs were much, much more expensive, many times in some cases more expensive. And the other thing, theyre considered a Hazardous Waste that because its a largely a gas technology, when the bulb is disposed of, youre supposed to bring it to a Hazardous Waste sight. I said how many people do that . Nobody does that. You know, its a bad thing. You probably heard about it and read about it. Youll be able to buy lightbulbs that are actually a better writing. An opinion of many. I tell you, in my opinion and for a lot less money. And so were doing that. But youll also be able, if you want, you can buy the other bulbs also. Even the bulb companies are happy about that. But together were defending the American Workers. Were using common sense. We have a situation where were looking very strongly at sinks and showers and other elements you turn the here faucet on in area where is theres tremendous amounts of water, where the water rushes meout sea because out to sea, and they dont get any water. You take a shower, and its dripping out very quietly dripping out. People are flushing toilets 10 times, 15 times as opposed to one. So end up using more water e. P. A. Is looking at that very strongly, my suggestion. You go into a new building, and a new home, you dont get water. You cant wash your hands practically theres so little water comes out of the faw set. And the end result you leave the faucet on. You end up using the same amount of water. So were looking at very seriously at opening up the standard. And there may be some areas where well go the other route, desert areas. But for the most part you have many states that they have so much water that it comes down, its called rain, that they dont know what to do with it. Were going to be opening up that, i believe. Were looking at changing the standards very soon. Thats a little bit with the lightbulb, where you get a bulb thats better, but you have the other alternative. And you the other alternative with sinks and showers. A lot of the things we do is based on common sense. Somebody said is that a conservative thing or a liberal thing . I said its a common sense thing. So many of the things we do is based on common sense, like the car. The car will end up with that net tremendous saving environmentally when you think of the ole cars that come off the road. Youll end up with a better car and it will be ultimately much better. So with that i would like to introduce mike pence. And say a few words and very importantly go around the table with a couple of the people that you want to introduce. Vice president pence we will. Thank you, mr. President. Its a great day in america where we can clear the threshold of 7 million jobs created. I assured all the Business Leaders around the table that they have a president who understands that while you youve advanced tax cuts and tax reform at a historic level, unleashed american energy, bought open markets, free and fair trade and rolled back regulation at a historic level that that you as someone who built a lifetime in a business and grew up in a Family Business understands that its businesss that create those jobs. And we really have a group around us thats done an incredible job being a part of that extraordinary economic boom thats underway. But i assured them that for all that weve accomplished, its just what you consider to be a good start and today, several of them have welcomed the opportunity to share their stories, but particularly cutting federal red tape has meant to their businesses and how how we can continue to build the moment numb this economy through more regulatory reform. Im going to introduce all three of them first. And then they can just go at at their timing and yours. Byron smith is the president of journey steel based in cincinnati. Ryan newby is Vice President of the bank of laverne in laverne, oklahoma. And drew dewalt is cofounder of rumbix incorporated a field data cap churing company who is revolutionizing the construction and a navy veteran. Ill encourage to hear from dana weber whose family was started 50 years ago by her dad. Shes told me she worked for 48 of those years growing up. And theres a part of a burgeoning and growing pipe business in this country thats benefited by the efforts that youve taken on steel. These are great job creators and i told them how grateful to have them here and how anxious you are to hear how we can continue to build this momentum in this booming economy. Bart . Thank you very much, mr. President , Vice President , for giving me this incredible opportunity. My name is bart smith and im the president of journey steel. Journey steel is a selfperforming Steel Fabrication and erection company. Were headquartered in cincinnati, ohio. We established journey in 2009, built on passion, dependability. We provide on time, inbinlt project in budget project to our customers. A program with High School Seniors well. Get them started in the construction economy. We are 8a. Wose and on a state level, edge and d. Bemplet which these programs are put in place to help small minority women to help businesses to grow. However, some of the regulations that are in place really hinder that opportunity for us. If i may share an analogy. Im dorothy. The ruby red slippers are the certification i had. Ive made a lot of friends along the way. Theyve been very supportive on my journey to the emerald city. Those big doors closed in my face because of some of the regulations that toll know go back. Gone through some wicked hoops. Got back. The doors were then open only for me to find another set of regulations behind the curtain. So my ask would be to remove those regulations. Let us get to the man behind the curtain who knows the power and knows ruby red slippers that theyve given us to open those doors for contracts so that we can truly can you write those regulations down . Aassume you think theyre i assume you think theyre unnecessary. I wouldnt say unnecessary because the great people of the f. B. A. They are tremendous. Theyve done a great job. Were going to talk about that later. President trump and if question do it, you do it. Being a small minority women some of the biggest things that we need the biggest thing we need is a mentor. We have to pass performancing that have the bonding capabilities who knows how to work for the government which is one of the biggest sins in the construction industry. As you know, you spend billions and billionses of dollars before the small minority woman in the business can get there. The regulations are in place where these agencies cant give me a list. They cant help me find that mentor. Even a though i may knock on the door, i may not get to the right person. Thats just a simple regulation that hopefully is able to be removed because were able to get to the right people, understand that. Get the mentors in place so question grow so that question hire more people, change the economy. Get more people to work. That would truly benefit which with these programs i believe were established for to begin with is to help the minority Small Businesses be able to access federal contracts. President trump ok. Good. Thank you. Thank you. Brian. Mr. President. Mr. Vice president , thank you for the opportunity and your time today. I appreciate it very much. Ryan newby from laverne, oklahoma. Represent Small Community bank in the oklahoma panhandle. I say small. 58 million 28 million in loans. We like a lot of other banks in oklahoma got out of the mortgage lending business with the complains red tape that we were strog deal with. 40 of the banks in oklahoma got out of the mortgage lending business at that time. And with your deregulation we were able to get back into that and serve our customers. 40, 50 miles down the road to the cover tigs competition. A couple other points i would like to make. Longer exam cycles for well capitalized banks. 18 which cut down on exam cuts. We can serve our customers and also the Corporate Tax rate being lowered from 34 to 21 saves us thousands of dollars a year to reinvest in our community and make more loans toward our customers. Again, thank you. President trump good job. Youre doing some good things. Thank you very much. Thats great. Drew . Mr. President , its an honor to be here today. My grandfather was a World War Ii Navy veteran and spent the rest of his career running a small construction company. I guess you could say i followed his footsteps. M a navy vet rand veteran and build infrastructures. And i have a Technology Company for Construction Companies to run better. We started a business nobody has ever built for the men and women actually building construction. Thats what our Business Done to really drive efficiency in the construction industry. And through this experience, ive gained a great appreciation for the construction industry, tall good that it does. But as you well know with all your buildingings completed it can get costly and inefficient. I like the approach were taking here. As part of my business i get to go to companies, boots on the ground across the country. And ive seen the drag that overdue for a good look regulation has on the industry. That being said, none of the builders that i meet with and work with have ever seen the industry booming as much as it has right now. They have the largest work backlogs that theyve ever had. And the only thing containing them is finding enough people to do the work. So we can side bar, drive more people and encourage more people to join the trades which is a lucrative individual business and can prop up this part of the economy, that would be welcomed. There are still more issues to be solved. You think, i think ive seen a lot of companies doing photo contract work that have added cost to their business of specific software and overhead count just for compliance. No other economic result on the business other than making sure youre complaint or youll get fined later. Its too much. And projects are gets done and are not out of risk because i had a contractor tell me, they got sued for payroll noncompliance. They had to fly somebody from the u. S. To australia to dig through the garage of a former employee for a legal box looking for the right paperwork so they didnt get sued. Im sure youve been in a similar situation. These inefficient sys still occur. What i do on the Technology Front is important for taking a an industry thats trying to move forward actually to take that next step. But i think the regulation piece candidly is a bigger opportunity that everyones cham uponning around this championing around this table so they remove these regulations and drive more efficiency because its the second largest industry in the nation. If you can put more juice in the tank there, you can get better results i would like to help any way that i can. But i appreciate you. Good job youre doing. You know, we have a lot of things that were working on. One of them is to build a road an take 22 years to get approvals. We had it way down now. Roads where theyve been going they would be going for decades. Elaine knows this better than anybody that attend of 20 years, right . [laughter] at the end of 20 years, you go for a vote and you get turned down. So theyve been trying to get an approval for 20 years. And then they get turned down like 32 or something. And weve got that process down to four and a half years. Its going to be think its going to be two years. If the roads dont get approved, it goes quickly. But they also mostly get aproved. And elaine is doing a fantastic job in bringing that down. Weve had so many so many examples of roads. It took 17, 18, 19 years to get approved. And by the time they get approved they cost 50 times more and do all sorts of turns to get at a certain areas from an environmental standpoint instead of being a much straight and much safer road. So weve been able to do that. I think those people in the steam industry have been greatly helped by the tariffs because the tariffs made the Steel Industry its incredible the money being spent in steel today. If i didnt get elected you wouldnt have a Steel Industry because ultimately, every steel mill was closing. They were dumping steel at a threavel nobody had ever seen before. And they were dumping it in order to really to destroy our industry to be able to buy from them. If you look at whats going on, the industry is doing incredibly well. Theyre building a lot of extensions. Theyre Building Brand new plants where they never they never built a new plant. I mean, they hand built one in years. And now theyre building new plants all over the country. Theyre expanding all across the country. They are start to do better with what were doing especially because the economy is stronger than at the beginning. And i think what id like to do is asking larry kudlow to say a few words. The numbers came out today, the job numbers. Question. Yes. If i may just based on what joust said, dana weber is in the Steel Industry. Had a few things she wanted to share. I got backed up here. I am absolutely going to back you up. First of all, youre the first president in the 40yearsplus that is advocating for manufacturing. I want to say thank you. The tariffs and the trade policys that you have have made a huge difference for us and a big difference. We are investing at record levels we have over the last three years. Were paying Profit Sharing bonuses and wage increases in the last three years. And were having companies, customers come out of the wood twhoork we didnt know existed coming to us because to inquire and to buy sfreel us. So you have made a tremendous difference. Great job. And thats on top of all the tax relief and the regulatory burdens that as i said earlier, please keep doing what youre doing for at least five more years. [laughter] i love the word at least. [laughter] they like to hear that. Thank you, dana. No, its been a big difference in the Steel Industry. And Many Industries but the Steel Industry we werent going to have a Steel Industry. Thats so unacceptable even from a defensive standpoint. Can you imagine if we need steel and we have to go to another country . Everything was closing down. And very unfairly and done with purpose. These people were going in with purpose, negative purpose. So theyre not too happy. But our people are very happy. And the industry is doing fantastic. The numbers will be almost like the ole days. Larry, you had good manufacturing numbers. 50,000 jobs or something created over a short period of time. And the Previous Administration said manufacturing, you need the magic wand. Weve heard the statement. But they basically said it was a dead business when in fact, its one of the most important sets of jobs you could have anywhere can. You give a discussion as to what took place today when they announced the numbers you are right, we are still around 500,000 in manufacturing jobs. Thats a big plus. The report today was 266,000 jobs for the month of november , but the prior two months were revised higher by 41,000. Todays numbers are 307,000. After we spoke, i cross checked, and this is the fourth straight month of upward revisions from the prior period. That is a leading indicator of a strong economy. 3. 5 unemployment rate. Thats a near 50 year low. Since you have been president , the average working family, husband, wife, two kids, after inflation, after taxes, has gone up 5,000. Thats takehome pay. The prior administrations were basically flat. Part of this worker boom, this American Worker boom since you have been president , the production workers are increasing wages at a 3. 7 annual rate. Production workers, 3. 7 annual increase. Their managers wages are rising 1. 6 . For the folks on the line, the folks wearing the blue collars, getting their hands dirty, they are working so well, their wage gains are almost twice the gains of their own managers. Ive never seen it before. Ive been around three or four centuries. [laughter] pres. Trump really did fantastic. Really easy numbers to work with. Very good. Elaine, maybe we want to discuss a little about transportation and the highways and the buildings of the highways on the roads . This is a president that really cares about the condition of our infrastructure. We continue to work with the congress on a bipartisan basis. As a down payment to the president s proposal, the department spends about 70 billion every single year to address, refurbish, rehabilitate bridges, roads and highways. We remain very focused on our goal. He has asked us to look at the permitting process and how important that is. Several of you around this table and others who are in this is business. He has been a very strict taskmaster. For every one new regulation, we have to withdraw at least two. The whole administration has done much better. Brooke mentioned for everyone new regulation about 7. 5 have been withdrawn. This is a tremendous lifting of the burden on Small Businesses, in particular. I want to mention one of the other things that the president mentioned about the vehicles act. We all care about the environment. When cars cost too much, people dont trade in their cars. When that happens and people keep older cars, thats unsafe. Our new fuel economy standard will be one of this administrations biggest legacies in terms of deregulatory action. It will introduce an improved safety on top of that. Cars that are too light are not safe. Pres. Trump and you are working on air Traffic Control. We have a system that is obsolete and ridiculous. Its a groundbased system that nobody can even imagine. They have spent billions of dollars trying to upgrade it, when you can buy a new system for less money than it costs to renovate little pieces of this obsolete system. I have been in planes where pilots dont even want to use our system. They use another countrys system to land in new york city. Air Traffic Control is obsolete. Hopefully we can meet with your people. One more thing, while the Vice President and you are both here, you have a tremendous interest in commercial space. Six years ago, the u. S. Was way behind other countries and in the last two and a half years, under your leadership, the u. S. Is number one in commercial space launches. Pres. Trump number one by far. Jean scalia, you have done a good job in that short period. Do you want to see whats going on . You probably just went to say how great the numbers are. There are 422,000 jobs since ive been in this vision. This is cause and effect. The effect is unprecedented numbers. And wages at the lower level are going up more. The cause, we know what it is. Its tax cuts, it is deregulation. It is cause and effect. Apart from wanting to deal with that, ones and keep of the biggest things on their minds right now is finding workers. That is the challenge of small business. Thats how strong our economy is. When you talk to business people, one of the biggest worries they have is finding workers. Michael was talking about helping with reentry and apprenticeships. Thats what youre focused on. We are addressing that but i mention it to show how strong the economy is. Thats the effect. Pres. Trump thank you very much, everybody. Very successful time for our country. The most successful in the history of our country. We have never done anything like that. We have never had these unemployment numbers or employment numbers. Thank you very much. We will have a full report shortly. Will you speak on the terrorism act . Pres. Trump we are not going to report on that now but we have people looking at it and interviewing people. It will be a report in the and the report will come out very soon.
