Concerns. E part of this pandemic. We cannot have a. We are extremely happy to see it. We have engaged in conversation with many members of the industry. Good afternoon. You. Appreciate listen to discussions from the industry. A couple of wants i would like to make. I think if you look around, and these are all protocol steps that are normal on the regular daily basis. That during the grand opening, you are taking measured steps to reopen. Handwashing in front of our salon. To enter. Ing all we do social distancing scheduling. All salons are currently doing that. That means no double booking. No one in between while someones color is processing. We have removed items that can be touched. We have removed the candy jars. We have upgraded the sanitation practices, implementation. I feel that between the guidance we have received from dr. Rawls and the masks and handwashing, focusing on being brutal with the basics, the city is ready to open up. Gov. Desantis thank you. [indiscernible] gov. Desantis it is very clean. [indiscernible] welcome to our salon. [indiscernible] we take a lot of pride in our salon and our clients. We take in every member even before this happened to ensure to piggyback off of what he said, we have hand sanitizers by the dozen. We have a manufacturer here in orlando. We can order disposable cases. We have one up front masks up front in case someone doesnt bring one. We supply all of our stylists. We love our clients. They are like an extended family. We want to keep them safe. Sanitation guidelines to get your license. You want to be able to not get a lawsuit. We want to know that you know what to do. So we have them coming in on a scattered schedule. Not just a full salon. One client at a time. Once the client is done, they have to sanitize. We have gone a step further, got contact with soap, hands, want to make sure everyone is safe to protect ourselves and our clients. We want the opportunity [indiscernible] activated already, we want the opportunity to help ourselves [indiscernible] continue to do it. Gov. Desantis really appreciate it. My name is leah michelle. [indiscernible] 27 year opened the business here. What happens now is [indiscernible] although licensed workers who are professional i already tried to put altogether with the guidelines for the customers, for the lawyer. We have guidelines [indiscernible] what is the tools to clean up all the store. I put in the guidelines. It is a little bit about we have id or working the nail salons make the customer [indiscernible] or the community safe. I put everything in here. I will show you a little bit later what we go through, when the customer walk in to the door, what are you going to do . How do you guide them, talk to them, during service, after the service, and anybody have the Different Things they do, the owners, the managers, receptionist, the workers. Everybody has to be a team. As soon as we have for a couple of days retrain and make sure everybody know exactly what they do and follow the doctor. Gov. Desantis thank you so much. I look forward to reviewing that. Yes, sir. Barbershop in downtown orlando, a native of orlando. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be on the Economic Task force. My friends are all here. We all have the same kind of concerns. I would like to start off with the fact i have been in business for 36 years. We all in this profession have been trained from day one we got to be clean and take care of ourselves, family, coworkers and clients. One thing i enjoy about this repression is the chance to give back to bring you into the profession first of all. Once you learned to be clean, safe and continue to keep your environment safe, that is very important. Most barbers [indiscernible] this is Second Nature to us along with all the other types of advice we are getting from the professionals, it has enhanced the things we have already done. Inspectors come in barbershops all the time. We are used to this kind of stuff. We want to govern ourselves accordingly, do the right thing, get back to work safe. We want to make sure that, and i can speak for all barbershops and hair salons, professional support or the finances, that will be another number station, but we need that so we wont another conversation later, but we need that so we both compromise the principles. We are all dealing with this financial setback in this profession. So as the governor, help empower the Business Owners in this profession with the support they need from the government, with the loans and grants. It will help us keep a balance. Once we get back to work, we are going to need the money to stay in business. We are in the red. We have large overcapacity. Thank you for having me. Gov. Desantis thank you. Mayor demings mayor of Orange County and the Greater Orlando area. Many of our Business Owners here, i have known many for quite a number of years. John henry, we went to high school together. I am a couple years ahead. [indiscernible] jones high school, the tigers. Let me say that after listening to some of the impassioned pleas from the Ownership Group here, part of economic Coverage Task force, they convinced me they were able to open with the right sanitary measures in place. You heard them talk about that today. As we rebalance the opening for safety, this is one of the areas they can do it. I have no concern whether they can do it safely or not. That is important to you as we reopen florida, the businesses have to have a number of Safety Measures in place. They have shared a number of things that would allow them to do it. Thank you for coming and hearing us out within the region. We have tried to take a regional approach as we reopen. Im one of the few countywide mayors in florida but i have reached out to the county chairs in the surrounding counties. We are in agreement about how we move forward with the reopening. The task force has a regional outlook, and they believe this is the right balance as we move forward. I am guided by those positions you see here. Dr. Pinot is a phenomenal individual. The you has been wonderful to work with. Dr. Rawls, he is the senior official with orlando health. He is formerly the director of Public Safety itself. He understands the county government. They are my principal advisers, and everything they have said to me is the way to be able to move forward and to do so safely. Thank you for being here. Gov. Desantis when we approached our next task force, our suggestion was as we look at the economy, essential versus nonessential, versus what had been done by Public Health over the years, that was the framework. It became clear to me that was inadequate. If this is your business, it is essential to you. If you have a job that some government said is nonessential, i am sure you think it is essential. I will say this is important and that is not. If you have Something Like the personal services, what is the risk level and that is what is the way to lower it . If you make things that are low risk, people have a right to ply their trade. My task force has started to do, we were not quite ready when we did the original announcement, but this is something we are interested in. Are there things you can do to make this someone coming in and getting their hair done to be low risk . Absolutely. There is an example of a look a wellregulated industry. These are individuals that are used to high sanitation expectations. A place like this, you have six feet between each chair pretty much automatically. You have a lot of awareness about client movement. They know what types of adjustments to make. There will be something that will be different like masks. We talked about mandatory masks and expecting people to do it. Clients might need masks. You come in for a session, you need a mask. We have some additional cleaning and sanitation expectations. A group of Business Owners that we should going to do the right thing. For the most part that is happening every day already. As you and the mayor make these policies, communities have to be responsible. Stay home. If you are asked to wash your hands, do so. They are asking you to help protect them so they can protect the economy and community. Gov. Desantis great. You probably have clients that are chomping at the bit to get in here. [laughter] good afternoon. Its great to be in Orange County. I want to thank the mayor for reaching out about the barbers and salons. Very important part of our economy. The discretion was great the discussion was great. Trying to do things safe, smart, step by step. This is what my task force was discussing. Phase not roll it out in one, but that doesnt mean we arent intent on getting it done. The idea was great. I will
