He warned of rising waters and damaging winds as the hurricane moved ashore along the panhandle of his date his state. From tallahassee this is 15 minutes. Search andnearly 600 rescue missions have been conducted with local sheriffs offices. Alsotate is also has assisted in those as has the coast guard. To support these missions we have accurate ash activated 500 National Guard soldiers, we have air access, helicopters and 50 high water vehicles. Florida fish and Wildlife Conservation commission or also has 50 special Operations Group members who are also standing by floridat as does highway patrol, they are deploying 60 troopers through their Quick Response force. Also gotten some support from tennessee and oklahoma which we appreciate. When you are looking at water of this nature, people should be very, very capable careful, it is hazardous. There could be powerlines in the water, do not try to drive your car through it, it is something that you could very much regret. It is potentially, in certain areas, lifethreatening. Protecting life is the number one priority. I know there is going to be property damage, that is going to be difficult, we will be there to help. Life comes first and your safety comes first. Number twober one, is we have a lot of people in the northwest florida with Power Outages, over one or 30,000 just in one county. Crews whoking with are mobilizing, they are not when you have the winds that are 80100 miles per hour. The winds have subsided some, but they are not going to be there. T to their out we think tomorrow morning you will start to see that, but we understand that is very significant and because of how important that is, our department of Emergency Management is the point 175 generators into the impacted areas to assist with the Power Outages and with the flooding. That was one of the things that jerred did was get more of those generators. I think that is paying off, we also received some reports. There was a longterm care facility that was having difficulty with their generator, there was another with minor flooding and in outpatient areas. The department of Emergency Response responded immediately, the powers back on. A county had a water main break last night, they lost communications to the eoc 911 and dispatch so the state has sent folks to help with the emergency communications. The division of Emergency Management is also mobilizing 60,000 gallons of water to provide clean Drinking Water for those who have been impacted by the main break. That will arrive later tonight. We also have bridges, many of the bridges that were closed today because of safety. Three mile bridge has a significant section missing in and several barges and other large debris are in the water that may impact other bridges. I think the main barge they were concerned about may have been neutralized. We have bridge inspection teams that are out there helping the counties with inspections and efferent push operations. Get the bridges open as soon as possible, but want to make sure that is done in a safe manner. Vigilant, ple to stay listen to your local officials, and be cognizant of the risks the water poses right now. Even as the water subsides which we think it probably will, the amount of rain that is being dumped to our north is going to in northwest florida, so you are going to have these rivers that are going to crest. It will happen tomorrow, maybe friday, maybe even some of them will happen this weekend. But theree initial, is going to be more that you are going to have to contend with. Please remain vigilant particularly if you are in those areas that could be affected. I know the meteorologists did some models and some of the ritters rivers that crest, the water goes out a significant amount. Also with the flooding, Pay Attention to boiled water notices and just remember that standing water could be deeper than it seems. Do not let Children Play in the standing water, you could have a down and active power line that is close by and it could definitely be lifethreatening. If you are safe inside your home, just remain there until the situation improves. For more information go to floridadisaster. Org. We also have information on twitter, you can also go to florida. Org info. The emergencyiate responders at the local level, obviously, the state and jared and what they were able to do having all this ready to go. We also appreciate the support from the federal partners, we understand the president approved our declaration yesterday no problem and we know that they are standing by ready to help as well. I will be going to pensacola tomorrow, i will be serving observing some of the damage and meeting with the local officials. With that, i will take questions. The extent of the damage and has there been any casualties . In the course of responding, i believe santa rosa, so santa rosa identified two fatalities, but they do not think it was caused by the storm. They think it was natural fatalities. We do not have at this moment that the storm has caused a lossoflife at this point. Obviously, when you have water like this i think that is part of the good thing about the Quick Response. Search and rescue, some of these people may have six inches of water in their house and they just want help. A lot of them are not necessarily lifethreatening, but i know some of them were in some pretty significant situations so we really appreciate all the hard work folks are doing to safeguard life. Interstate had an issue, are crews able to get into the area there was impacted the words for cleanup worse for cleanup . Yes, you and rescue, will probably have the utilities being there starting tomorrow morning. We understand when you are dealing with these lines even as the winds subside from being 80 miles an hour, if you have 3040 mile an hour winds that makes it very difficult. That will likely be done first thing in the morning. We understand, if you look at the Power Outages, disproportionately santa rosa is santa rosa and escambia. Have you heard from the white house today . Yes, they are there ready to help. Weight i was also able to check with secretary wolf and he assured me that we would have all the support we need. The coast guard has been active in helping with the searchandrescue. We are going to be with the coast guard tomorrow as we toured some of the damage, we do pensacola. Our around i tell you, having been through some of these storms, our coast guard does a great job. They really step up to the plate, we thank them for their efforts. I know emergency demands have changed up our policies, do you know if any of those new policies has been enacted or is being used to try and mitigate the spread of the virus . A trialwe actually got isais. With eisai use there were some areas in palm beach that fell into evacuations, the storm did not have impact there, but you had individuals that went, they were screened, some were able to do traditional sheltering and others were diverted to the noncongregate sheltering. That option is here today and it is being used. With rivers cresting, you may have a situation where there is no need for folks to evacuate in certain parts of northwest florida at all. You may see that need arise over the next couple days, that is why we want people to remain vigilant. With that, often down where these waters, tributaries, and rivers are, during night, people like to be in there is areas and that is continue to be in issue. I think jared has done a really good job, as people come in they thescreened, they go to nonconga, if they feel some of the questions, they can go to the noncongregate and if they are in the normal shelter they are provided with the ppe in order to where that. Wear that. Hopefully a lot of people do not need to evacuate going forward, this is something with the flooding it is going to continue to be an issue over these next many days. People need to buckle up if you are in those areas, heed the warnings of your local officials and obviously we will be there to help anyway way we can. [indiscernible] think pretty much every body of water in a northwest florida you said it could potentially see. Maybe you can put that out online on the twitter just so people can see, this is just a model, i dont think this has happened yet, but you see the rising of all of those bodies of water and then how wide some of the flooding goes. You could be a mile away and still be impacted if the water significant water is significant enough. When you hear things like historic, catastrophic flooding look, the Hurricane Center is not always right, it is a tough business, but they do not choose those words lightly. That means it is not going to be you have an inch of water that shows up on your doorstep, they are seeing flooding like we have not necessarily seen before. Certainly it is at the level that ivan was and potentially even more. The wind can be difficult, we saw that with michael when you had the category 5. ,ou had places in bay county panama city beach, you would not of even known there was a hurricane because it was pretty compact, it went through very quickly and was not dropping a lot of water. This event because it is dropping so much, the storm was going three miles an hour, four miles an hour . I think it is now up to five, just how broader the water affects. They say hide from wind, but run from water. Damaging, can be very so, hopefully we continue to be able to protect folks and you have folks taking the prosper proper precautions. We get to that which is the most important, but there is going to be a lot of property damage. When you see downtown pensacola, when you see three feet of water there, that is going to affect probably every business that is in downtown pensacola. Coming up tonight, the cdc director, dr. Robert redfield, an adhering to the federal response on the coronavirus pandemic. About thebiden specs jump administrations process for approving the coronavirus sexing. I told you, we have engaged in military, we have a general in charge of all logistics. Hes a fantastic guy, fantastic at what he does. We figure that is better than a company you are going to hire. We look to distribution immediately after we get the word that its good. I think they are having tremendous success with a vaccine. Behink the results will early and strong. The safety has to be 100 . We will insist on that. The companies are going to insist on that, also. January, february . To highpriority people the highpriority people have said no time later than january. [indiscernible] edison dissipated there will be 700 million doses by the end of q1 there is an estimation there will be 700 million doses by the end of q1. Do you mind if i ask you a question . It is one thing to have the doses, but many experts say this is happening in the winter. You have to socially distance. You cant have the the packed lines and auditoriums. Another thing they are worried about is storing these vaccines. Since we dont know which one is the one a, doctors offices may not have dry ice to handle 80 degrees. Are you prepared to say you can overcome all those challenges in three months . Yes. Ive been briefed on the vaccine. That areefrigerators necessary, everything is going to be in place for that. Theres a logistical plymouth started months ago. Logistical plan that started months ago. You also have more than one company, you have johnson johnson, pfizer, moderna. We can conceivably have vaccines being given out by numerous companies, and they are all worldclass companies. That could happen also. The cdc director, dr. Robert redfield,
