In spite of this, we had an extremely wellrun election and saw historically high voter participation. There were more than 3. 4 2 million ballots cast in this election and turn was nearly 80 . Increase from the, 2018 midterm elections and 8 increase from the 2016 president ial election. Of those 3. 4 2 million ballots cast, over 88 of them were cast early, which provides more proof arizonas solid by mail system works. Thetionally, despite ,nprecedented challenges arizonans showed up for our democracy. Every arizona voter has my thanks and should know that they can stand proud that this election was conducted with transparency, accuracy, and fairness in accordance with arizonas laws and elections procedures, despite numerous unfounded claims to the country. As a reminder, i would like to highlight just a few of those measures that are in place to ensure the fairness and security of election systems in arizona. The overwhelming response ensured polling places across the state were fully staffed and safe, and that voters did not have to wait in long lines. We all have continue to confirm marcus he is indeed a team sport. Because of our work together, im confident no arizonan had to choose between their health and their fundamental right to vote. A big part of that was the easy vote safe program developed in partnership with governor ducey. The fund provided through the program was invaluable a safe vg experience for all involved. I want to quickly recognize the support from the arizona administration, which purchased and facilitated the distribution of protective supplies for election workers and voters, hand sanitizer, disinfecting supplies and social distancing workers for voting locations throughout the state. We purchased 84 drop boxes for 13 counties across the state to ensure all arizonans could safely and securely return their ballot by the 7 00 p. M. Election day deadline.
