With less than 2,000 votes left to be counted on Election Night, David Alfin held an insurmountable lead in the the six-way city of Palm Cost mayoral race.
Alfin, a a real estate agent who has lived in Palm Coast for a decade, held 35.92% of the vote (6,173) and was trailed distantly by Alan Lowe, who had 26.26% (4,513 votes) and Cornelia Downing Manfre, who received 24.67% (4,240 votes).
Of the remaining three candidates, Doug Courtney got 9.23 of the vote so far, Kathy Austrino received 2.82% and Carol Bacha received 0.98%.
Alfin has presented himself as a champion of collaboration and consensus. He's had the backing of current City Council members Nick Klufas and Eddie Branquinho and former City Councilman Bob Cuff, and the endorsement of the local firefighters union the Palm Coast Professional Firefighters Local 4807 and the law enforcement union, the Flagler County Coastal Florida PBA.
