To round out Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April, students from the University of Guam Social Work Program took charge of the Denim Day wave Wednesday with the help of Erica's House and the Guam Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence.
The Denim Day wave tradition stems from a court case in Italy in which a judge sided with the perpetrator in a rape case. In his ruling, the judge said there must have been consent in the incident since the victim was wearing tight jeans and would have had to have helped her perpetrator take them off.
