Early voting on a pair of proposals to improve Mountain Home's parks begins Tuesday and continues through Monday, March 8.
Mountain Home residents are being asked to approve or deny two proposed taxes to benefit the city's parks programs. The first, a temporary 0.5 percent sales tax, would be used to fund improvements to the city's parks and build a community center at McCabe Park. Voters will also be asked to approve a permanent, 0.25 percent sales tax that would help fund the ongoing operation of the city's Parks Department.
Early voting for the two proposals will be held at the Baxter County Courthouse. The courthouse is located at 1 E. 7th Street in Mountain Home and is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on weekdays and is closed on weekends. An absentee ballot for the special election may be requested from the Baxter County Clerk's Office by calling (870) 425-3475 or visiting them in person at the courthouse.
