Alexander brings seven years of experience as fire chief and emergency management director of Plainville.
Alexander is a fourth-generation firefighter who worked through the ranks in Plainville starting in 2004 as a firefighter/paramedic, and then moving to lieutenant and deputy chief. His father, Donald Alexander, is a former lieutenant for the Raynham Fire Department
He also served as EMS coordinator, training officer, department mechanic, dispatch liaison and equipment coordinator.
He served on municipal building committees to build Plainville Town Hall and public safety building.
“He has innovated in the community para-medicine space; supported the design, construction and operation of a regional dispatch center; and has been deeply involved in community outreach in Plainville as chief,” Read said.
