Elmwood Park Zoo hosts first responders, announces exclusive membership

NORRISTOWN — The event was short and sweet but the message of gratitude was conveyed loud and clear.
Members of local police, firefighter and ambulance departments gathered outdoors at Elmwood Park Zoo on a sunny Wednesday morning to enjoy Continental breakfast treats and to receive a special gift from the zoo honoring all first responders for their service to the local community.
The zoo announced the creation of yearly zoo memberships especially intended for members of these departments. A press release noted that the first responder membership will be available for free to police, fire, and EMT workers in Norristown and its surrounding townships. The memberships provide free zoo admission and other exclusive benefits, similar to the zoo's yearly memberships available to purchase for individuals and families.
