Epson today announced plans to cement its leadership position in the burgeoning ultra-short-throw (UST) projector category with a new laser-lit model it plans to ship in the fall. The EpiqVision Ultra LS650 is a 3-chip 3LCD design with a native resolution of 1080p but uses Epson’s 4K PRO-UHD pixel-shifting technology and image processing to achieve 4K “without sacrificing picture brightness,” which is rated at 3,600 lumens.
