Ex-teacher aide in Marion County accused of lewd behavior
Marion County Sheriff's Office detectives have arrested a 57-year-old man for allegedly touching a girl at an elementary school.
Charged with lewd, lascivious behavior, Juvenal Gomez was taken into custody at his residence on Thursday by Detectives Billy Burleson and Brent Castellano.
Gomez made his first appearance in front of County Judge Jim McCune on Friday morning, and bail was set at $25,000. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to represent Gomez.
The Ocala man was fired from Romeo Elementary School, where he was a paraprofessional, or teacher's aide, according to school officials.
