Families at risk of hunger as surging food prices drive inflation to 7.1%

Food inflation continued to spiral in March, driving up the consumer price index for the second consecutive month to 7.1% from 7% in March, year-on-year. Food prices increased by 14% in March from 13.6% in the month before.
