Our favorite cpa will show you new laws in 2020 that will absolutely affect your Retirement Savings plan. How you can take effect of those changes. We have that and much more on making money. Charles folks it is an understatement it has been a great year for investors. Nasdaq up more than 30 . Bond market, certain commodity the like gold blake showed you see gains. One years winners are not guaranteed to be next years winners. Where should investors look to be a prosperous 2020 . We have two of the very best. Danny hughes and david nelson. Thank you very much for closing out the year with us. Let me start with you, danny. It has been a remarkable year. We go in with fair amount of economic and stock market momentum but things will change during the course of 2020, right . I think so. Look at 2019 that was the story in 2019. We came in 2019 crying, hiding under our covers. Charles you should have seen what it took to get david out of the house. It was not fun. The fed flip drove a lot of market in 2019. I dont think well see the same thing in 20 but you know charles momentum show, the fed wont reflip. No one thinks they will go on a rate hiking binge. Fed at this level should be good enough backdrop for certain areas of the market to continue to well. Until we get to earnings, remember corporate Earnings Growth last year, or this year, were on the precipice, it was down. We had negative corporate Earnings Growth last year in 2019. Were expecting more of the same in 2020. So earnings will be a big part of that question. Charles talk about chasing winners for a moment because the number one stock on the s p 500 this year is advanced micro. I come in the office this morning. A wall street firm, guess what they did . They upped their target on advanced micro, rosenblatt, 65 from 52. We see this almost every day. Apple get as higher price target. They are chasing winners or sifting through the ash. To be fair, the fundamentals for Companies Like apple, amd are very, very good. Charles the point theyre evolving, right . You can almost argue youre chasing fundamentals with is okay, not the share price . That is okay. Hearing from Portfolio Managers and strategists like us extrapolating forward what we just had and we had a fantastic year. People will start to extrapolate well have another fantastic year. It will follow Earnings Growth. Right now the estimates are 8, 9, 10 . That is probably seeing targets right now. Amd is a fabulous company. I dont know if can have a meteoric rise again. Just because its a winner doesnt mean you need to sell it. Doesnt mean it is not a freight buy. Charles picking tops are bad. We regret almost anything we sold. I felt good taking profits but now im feeling a a little dumb. Weed was easy stock. Cannabis was legalized. Everyone was buying them. They have been unmitigated disasters. Today they are on fire. Cgg is up big. Almost all of them up more than 10 . Im not sure if there is news out there. Folks are saying brand new year, maybe they live up to the hype. Yeah. Charles underperforming sectors, weed or other, what do you think . I think there is a big impetus by investors to look at both sides of the market. They look at big, big winners and jump on the band wag gone and jump on the big losers. Some are weed stocks, retail stocks. Macys stock pummeled, gap. A lot of names will find themselves rising up because they were the big losers this year. I need more than a story, for a lot of these stocks its a story. A lot of these companies will simply not make any money. If youing down to the fundamental, extrapolate three, four five years, this company will make money, but dont buy it because it was down last year. If you buy stocks at 52week high you would outperform those guys. Charles neo, chinese electric Vehicle Company which has been a bust. Had a good quarter. If you chased that at the open yesterday, he would be up 20, 30 in 24 hours. You can see the allure. A lot of viewers are saying what do i buy now, hypothetically, someone has 10,000, where would you allocate that, danny . I think you should be in the market. No question about it the u. S. Market is where you should be. I look at more of a trend. Esd, stocks that environmentally, socially, government conscious. They are not Just Companies in the green space or oil and gas space are making big, big changes how theyre doing business. Charles we talked esg a lot. What do you say . Only 10,000 you have make sure in index fund or mutual fund, if it is discretionary, look at defense sector. Where i look every corner of the planet is a hot spot. That will not change. We had record defense budget. Lockheed martin and Northrop Grumman are good stocks. Charles youre the best and happy new year. Happy new year. Charles as we head into 2020, proof it is best time to be alive, talking ever. Look at the past decade. Were talking extreme poverty, aids, pollution related deaths, hunger, illiteracy, Child Mortality rates around the world are down significantly in the course of the last 10 years. On this, bring in Fox News Contributor deroy murdoch. Deroy, where have you been, man . Charles, how are you . Christmas vacation. Charles great time to be alive, no one can argue that. Absolutely. Charles amazing time around the world. Every day were reminded by politicians how bad were doing. If you think about it, hard to argue not only best time ever to be alive but the last 10 years or so, demonstrably better. It has gotten better. A couple reasons for this. One is technology. Internet gives people around the world, access to markets, ability to sell things all over the world, get information, get whatever information you want to share with other people out, basically almost no cost. I think trade has helped. Many barriers brought down despite recent tariffs in this country with china and so on. Much more free trading situation weve had before. I would also point to something which im involved, free market think tank movement. Senior fellow at, with less network. We support 500 free market think tanks, 95 countries around the world and we encouraged folks around the world to lower regulations, limit role of government. Weve seen tremendous results for example, in burundi, they cut amount of time to start a business, seven months down to one day. Charles wow. California they should follow that. This guy used to have two employees. He is up to 100 now. Worked with folk in the philippines. Got 2. 5 million farmers getting title to their property. Now they can borrow against it. These free market think tanks advancing ideas around the world i think is one of the reasons weve had such a great decade. Charles some in the white house would call it pax americana, amount of peace, prosperity comes back to america, not just as example for free markets and that, but blood, sweat, billions of dollars, perhaps trillions we left around the world to keep the world safe and help the world become prosperous. You know, the question is can we keep this going . Can the world keep going . Can we continue to be the leader . I think we are now. This economy is really envy of the world with the tremendous growth were having, lowest unemployment in 50 years, lowest black, hispanic, unemployment weve seen i think ever hess toreally. This is great example. Our involvement diplomatically and militarily keep things relatively peaceful there are skirmishes. No major wars. If we keep that up, that will be good for the u. S. And excellent for the planet. Charles steve pinker wrote a book, better ainge jess. This is the least amount of conflict on the planet. Once you think about the world wars and other things. In america there have been recently pockets of despair, tick up in suicide rates, those sort of things, the opioid epidemic. What has to be done, to make sure or can we think that in the bud to keep this overall decade plus long momentum going . One of the areas that help, charitable sector, churches and private organizations, can help, work with people falling in between the crack, need assistance, training that is vital. Everything we can do to help that Civil Society sector advance. If you want a picture how bad things used to be, i saw a wonderful movie, 1917, showing how brutal the trench warfare in world war i. Thankful charles i seen the ad. Amazing motion picture. Charles youre amazing guest. Great work with the atlas society. Atlas network. Charles not everything is peaceful. Frightening scene in iraq as the u. S. Embassy is under attack there. President trump blaminger ran. Well have latest. A rise in hate crimes against jews. What can be done to change the trend . I will talk with former new york assemblymen dov hikind after the break. Do woodchucks chuck wood . Hey you dang woodchucks, quit chucking my wood geico. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance. An atmosphere of hate has been developing in this country over last couple years. A lot eminating from washington. Youre blaming the president , not just washington . We need a different tone starting in washington, with democrats and republicans both in the white house that encourage this country to find some unity and some common ground. We havent had that for last few years. Charles new york city mayor bill de blasio pointing the finger after a spate of antisemitic attacks. My next guest says it is childish. We need to start being honest in order to stop these problems. Joining me former new york state assemblyman dov hikind. Thanks for joining us. Pleasure. Charles your initial thoughts as he was shifting the blame for what is happening here in his city, in this state, down to donald trump in washington, d. C. What i wanted to say to him, look in the mirror because you know, blaming someone else when we are in a crisis, when were faced with an epidemic here in new york, antisemitism out of control. We have never had anything like this, for gods sake. Even the last 24 hours jews in this city have been attacked simply because they are jews and they look like jews. The way they dress, et cetera. Charles right. It is unconscionable what is going on. The mayor should take responsibility. Where has he been the past year . What has he done during the past year . What was the plan of action on part of the mayor, on the part of the governor . What is the plan . Every time something happens the governor is sending state troopers to help with the investigation and you never hear anything. Every time something happens the mayor condemns the antisemitism which takes a lot of courage to condemn antisemitism. What is the plan . What have they done . How have they addressed it . There is no answer. They havent done very much. After jersey city, the murder of innocent people, after what happened not too far away from new york, there is talk but still, if youre going to blame washington, that means it is not your fault. That means you dont deserve any blame and you dont have any responsibility and that is not true. You were elected to be the mayor of the city of new york, the governor is the governor. You are responsible for people in this city and if those people attacked were not jews but different groups, if they were transgender, if they were gay, if they were africanamerican, can you imagine a few incidents, what would be going on . There would be panel discussions. There would be marchs, everything in the world and how to address and deal with the problem. The jews . Im going to say it as it is, jews are treated differently. I mean, where is the hate coming from . Charles why do you think that is . Why in a city like new york where jews have a lot more influence than any other city in this country, that the mayor would think this is acceptable response to what is happening in his own backyard . I dont know but it is about being politically correct. It is not about rocking the boat. It is about charles talk about that for a moment because these attacks really picked up during hanukkah. You know the second day of hanukkah someone yelled to a jewish person, fu. Punched an elderly mom in the face. Six or sevenyearolds were hit from a behind. Next day a woman was punched in face. Next day, a man was punched. The list goes on and on. You tweeted about a video, look at pure viciousness, callousness on display of an attack of a jewish teenager in Crown Heights just last night. Charles, the young man is walking on the street innocently, young kid, i dont know if 15, 14, 16. Charles sure. You have seven wrung men coming this direction. They take pleasure, they take the delight out of throwing the hat of this young man. By the way, the young man whose hat is on the floor, so terrified, he keeps on walking. He is is not going back to get his hat because he is so scared. Charles asking me to wrap it. I want to get this from you, i saw you retweeted a tweet where someone suggested that jews should be able to arm themselves. This is a desperate situation. How does it get resolved . I think its a combination of things. Our leaders being more responsible, having a plan of action. What is the plan of action . You cant just condemn it. Yes, people need to learn how to use weapons. People need to know how to defend themselves better. There is a lot that needs to be done. Let me tell you where it will lead to if something is not done by government, you will have Jewish Defense organizations. Let me tell you, the powers are not going to be happy with that. They better get their act together and not just the rhetoric but, we want to know, the plan of action to deal with the americans, with jews who are terrified. Jews who are afraid to walk the street. They wont let their kids out. Is this america were living in . New york . Dont blame the president. Its you. Charles you have always been passionate. You represented your district in new york city for a long time. Ive always been admirer of yours. Glad you came in. Thank you, charles. Charles hope we get something done. Happy, healthy year. Charles you too. Joe biden having deplorable moment as he takes a shot at coal miners. Is he trying to lose the rust belt. Standing up to iran as the u. S. Embassy in iran is attacked. Walid phares will give his take after the break. [shouting] charles u. S. Embassy compound in baghdad under siege by demonstrators protesting airstrikes in iraq. Chants of death to america could be heard as the chaotic scene unfolded. President trump blaming iran for all of this tweeting, to millions of people in iraq who want freedom and dont want to be controlled by iran this is your time. Joining me Fox News National security analyst walid phares. Walid, we came into the week. We learned of an american counterattack, reprisal attack if you will and obviously things never seem to simmer down there, but heating up more so now. Whats going on . Look, charles, everything has started with a demonstrations. Everything will end with the demonstrations. Why . Because these protests for the last two months 1 2 since mid october, or so, putting a lot of pressure on whom . On militias, proiranian militias. Remember the pictures of militias running away, trying to kill the demonstrators and some of these headquarters of the militias were burned down by the many of the demonstrators. What did iranians tried to do . They tried to change the shift from demonstrations to a mini war, limited war with the u. S. By attacking our positions for the last many weeks and when they crossed that line, the red line is what . When they actually kill americans. We have an administration that is not going to accept that. There was response by the united states. Of course now the iranian militias, not demonstrators, coming to the u. S. Embassy and trying to show the world that the iraqis are against the americans. No. The world knows that this is a small minority of militias. Im concerned about one thing to end it here, is that the militias will try to take reprisal against the demonstrators at the end of the day. Charles theres a lot of political upheaval in iraq. There is a sense that the leaders there arent getting the job done. Weve seen dell stations in the last demonstrations in the last couple months. The instability, lack of strong leadership there, doesnt it leave it open for this sort of insurgency anyway . Look, you have a point. This process all began when we rushed out of iraq in 2011 during the previous administration. Instead of transferring iraq to those youths, people educated, secular, modernizing, to whom did we transfer iraq, shia militias under the control of iran. Therefore any government that came, including this one, may not be the entire government under irans control but at least control was in the hands of the iranians. Really that is one line to cross now, to make sure that the next government in iraq is really iraqi and not controlled by the iranians that would change everything. Charles your expertise on this helped us over many years. We appreciate it. You look great. Happy new year, thank you very much. Happy new year to you too. Charles 2019 is the year of ceos hitting the exits. Why a Record Number of Top Executive departures is good news for investors. Oh, joe, the democratic frontrunner having what i call a deplorable moment. Well be taking him down on what he just said. Take a listen. Anybody who can go down 300 to 3,000 feet in a mine sure as hell can learn how to program as well. Eliable phone company. But to businesses, were a reliable partner. We Keep Companies ready for whats next. man we weave security into their business. second man virtualize their operations. woman and build ai customer experiences. second woman we also keep them ready for the next big opportunity. Like 5g. Almost all of the fortune 500 partner with us. woman when it comes to digital transformation. Verizon keeps business ready. Quitting smoking is freaking hard. St, like quitting every monday hard. Quitting feels so big. So, try making it smaller. And youll be surprised at how easily starting small. Can lead to something big. Start stopping with nicorette. He asked me toward the end of our administration, joes going to determine what the jobs of the future are. Anybody who can go down 300 to 3,000 feet in a mine sure as hell can learn how to program as well. Anybody that can throw coal into a furnace can learn how to program for gods sake. Charles joe biden having what im calling a deplorable, a big deplorable moment, alienating a huge portion of voters, attacking bluecollar workers. Beyond the emotions of the crazy things that he said, you know, there is also some facts i want to show you. According to research i did using Government Data in this country in 2007 the average mining job paid over 100,000. Folks who work on oil and gas rigs, 165,000. Average computer programing job pays just 84,000 bucks. They say that those jobs are estimated to decline over 7 over the next 10 years. Here with reaction, by the way, let me share with you my reaction on fox friends this morning. So essentially said i will take someone making 165,000 well retrain them and teach them how to code. What are they going to do . How will just so farfetched crazy. It is hurtful though. It is hurtful to dismiss the intellect of those miners. Intellect of people with color. It is so despicable, im glad he said it but it is hurtful that he said it. Charles bring in my panel. Liberal commentator danielle mcglocklin, daily caller, stephanie hamel. I mentioned the fox friends clip, liberal friend, when he told them that in detroit, sent a bunch of women of color for Community College for short course to learn coding and learn computers. He said you cant expect them to do that. I thought was a crazy admission. Nevertheless what is going on here . I think it was little inartful the way he said it. Talking about the what the future, talking about miners who lost their jobs, otherwise unemployed. Charles sounds like he was saying well make the miners unemployed. He was expressly charles last week he said he wants to get rid of all oil and gas jobs. Over the weekend he said he would jail oil industry executives. He thinks this is bad industry. Trying to get in with the Climate Change crowd. Then of course, what does that mean . I mean, this doesnt make sense to me. Like the hillary clinton, i want coal miners fired moment for him. Again, she was also taken out of context. In reagan era we had 150,000 coal jobs. Now we have 50,000, 52 and 53 demand is going down. Renewables, demand is going up. This is the way, Market Forces are working. I think he is addressing in a way frankly republicans are not holding on to an industry that is dying. Charles listen i disagree 1000 , that is not what he was saying. He said my liberal friends you cant expect them to be able to do that, black women learning how to code . His liberal friends said that. His liberal friends told him black women cannot code. Is that what liberals say behind closed doors about black people . Clarify what he said, can go down 3,000 feet in a mine can sure as hell program as well. He was calling them tough, and smart. These jobs are going away. Charles stephanie, do you think he was calling them smart and tough . I think it is simplistic job. Doesnt involve any intellect but we can teach them how to code, by the way, these black people learned how to do it . It is incredible how out of touch and tone deaf biden is. It is absolutely insulting. It is not for him to decide who should learn to code. My question, does biden know how to code . I remember people getting kicked off the twitter suggesting journalists learn how to code. You remember that . Charles yeah. I forgot about that. He obviously didnt yeah, he didnt read Hillary Clintons book, what happened. Where she explained her biggest regret on the campaign trail was where she told coal miners she wanted to put them out of business and it is pretty clear what biden is saying here. He wants to jail the executives. I find it hypocritical for biden to go after fossil fuels he is the democratic candidate that spent the most on private jets campaigning this season. He spent over a million dollars. Is he really serious about Global Warming and Climate Change . Is he really against fossil fuels . Because he seems to use them more than anyone else. Charles listen. Gets a lot of cover from the media. A lot of folks are not covering this story. I think it is sad, another string of sad things. Let me shift gears for a moment because gallup came out with the list of most admired folks. For men it was really intriguing because you had a tossup arranges tie rather, barack obama 18 . Check this out, donald trump at 18 . Jimmy carter 2 . Elon musk at 2 . Bill gates at 2 . Real quick, danielle, the good news barack obama is still tied for number one. The bad news the highest ranking current democrat running for president is Bernie Sanders at 1 . You know. Congratulations donald trump. Most admired tied with obama, 12th year in a row. What i loved about the poll, more than the political figures was, that a larger portion of people actually people most admired were people in the family. Charles now changing topic. Now youre changing the topic. Where are democratic men running for office . Bernie sanders is 1 . Charles stephanie, work with me, 30 seconds. Barack obama gone from 30 to 18 . Trump numbers gone from 5 to 18 . That is not good news for the democrats in 2020. Exactly. Look, charles, you know im always skeptical about the polls. They surveyed about 1000 people across the country and all 50 states. But it is significant and it is revealing and telling. President trump, everyone is talking about impeachment and all these negative things about him. We know the media 90 of the coverage or more is negative against the president. It shows it is not work. It is not working. If i were democrats i would be very nervous about the survey. Charles danielle, stephanie, two of my favorites. Happy new year. Happy new year. Charles once considered one of the worlds best ceos, carlos ghosn got a raw deal and now is on the run. His fall from grace is next. Beyond the routine checkups. Beyond the notsoroutine cases. Comcast business is helping doctors provide care in whole new ways. All working with a new generation of technologies powered by our gigspeed network. Because beyond technology. There is human ingenuity. Every day, comcast business is helping businesses go beyond the expected. To do the extraordinary. Take your business beyond. Charles all right. The decade launching a whole new space race, how can you make money on this trend . Susan li will talk about next hour. She give as preview. As we end the year and the decade, well look ahead to the final frontier to an economy could be worth a trillion dollars by year 2040. How can you get in before everybody else . Well explain it to you. Well make an interesting easy in the etfs. It is not just space tourism. Not just satellites. Yes, space travel as well. Well talk about big players as well, how you can buy in. What do you think . Charles i was excited. I was in spec earlier in the week. Took profits on it. Made a lot of money in few minutes. I will watch the stocks, they will make a bunch money. They to sure to watch you, susan, to get more details. Tune in to the claman countdown. Happy new year, susan. Happy new year. Charles 2019 was a good year for Many Companies but not ceos. Jackie deangelis talking about the mass, owe does but most of all not not voluntarily. 2019 saw the most departures since the firm challenger, Gray Christmas started tracking data. Fox business combined the list, 13 of the most prevalent ceo departures we had on the list. The five i thought were most impactful i highlight here. Dennis muilenburg from boeing. After the crisis with the 737 crashes. The company said replacing muilenburg with David Calhoun would provide a fresh start, repay the relationship with regulators, customers, restore trust, et cetera. Then there was adam neumann with wework. Wework didnt move forward with the ipo because his behavior made investors nervous. He was erratic. A change was needed to be made there and confidence were not so sure is necessarily back. Steve easterbrook of mcdonalds. Lets move on to that one. He had a positive impact on the company and stock price. But a consensual relationship with a Company Employee violated company policy, yeah he had to go. This one i thought was interesting, juul labs, kevin burns. He resigned as president becamed ecigarettes. Burns was replaced by a executive rat altria group. That is interesting one. Larry page from alphabet. Sunday dare pichai replacing them. Big tech will face some regulatory issues and challenges for sure. Interesting to see if page is trying to distance himself from that. Charles looking at your list, two things. A lot of things are changing. More likely get fired for a consensual relationship than bad earnings. The golden parachutes for these folks. Were still learning about neumanns compensation on the way out would be well over a billion dollars. Absolutely. There is more accountability, not just to the shareholders but to the public. Whether personal indiscretion kind of situation, something where you messed up in terms of your management skills, there is a lot less tolerance than it was before with respect to these positions and there is not that much wiggle room. The ceos have to think about that as they conduct their personal and professional lives. Charles i would like to see boards get rid of ceos sooner for being bad ceos. I agree. Charles there are a lot of poor ceos on the job right now but they have got these, theyre elites. Everyone likes them. The board is their friend. So i guess a step in the right direction. There is some politics, internal politics. Charles good way of putting it. Thank you very much. Happy new year, jackie. No doubt 2019 was a tough year for ceos around the world as rules have indeed changed for behavior inside and outside of the office but it is hard to argue any ceo took a bigger fall from grace than carlos ghosn. He became a legend after saving Nissan Motors which was teetering on the brink in 1999. By 2001, time called them a global influencers, shifts nissan to five billion dollars loss to 2 1 2 billion dollar gain in a single year. Books were written about him. Turn around. The known factor. 24 lessons from the worlds most dynamic ceo. Shift, inside of nissans historic revival. Something went drastically wrong since the heady days. He discussed a challenges of running a giant company as a foreigner in japan from Stanford School of business. You had to listens not be afraid to make mistakes and make alliances. Yesterday ghosn confirmed he fled to lebanon where he calls injustice and political persecution in japan. He can finally communicate freely with the media. We will expect to learn a whole lot more very soon. Meanwhile ghosn i think was a victim after political power play here. He was a convenient scapegoat to tough justice country which was criticized for being soft on whitecollar crime. No matter what the true story is, no doubt ghosns fall is one for the ages. Coming up we tell you how to make the most out of changes to your Retirement Funds in 2020. New low going into effect in california tomorrow, my next guest says will hurt nearly a million workers. Well be right back. Liberty mutual customizes your car insurance, so you only pay for what you need. I wish i could shake your hand. Granted. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. This is the epson no more buying cartridges. Big ink tanks. Lots of ink. Print about. This many pages. The epson ecotank. Just fill and chill. And mine super soft . Yes. With the sleep number 360 smart bed, on sale now, you can both. Adjust your comfort with your sleep number setting. So, can it help us fall asleep faster . Yes, by gently warming your feet. But can it help keep me asleep . Absolutely, it intelligently senses your movements and automatically adjusts to keep you both comfortable. So, you can really promise better sleep . Not promise. Prove. And now, during our new years special, queen sleep number c4 smart bed is only 1299, save 400, plus 0 interest for 24 months on all beds. Ends new years day. Its our most dangerous addiction. So we took our worst vice, and turned it into the dna for a better system. We created bionic and put the word out with godaddy. What will you change . Make the world you want. Charles uber, and postmates giving a california a lift to court. The law restricting gig companies, the law goes into Effect Tomorrow. The law is supposed to protect drivers, and workers, that is what they say but they are the ones protesting it. We have california congressional candidate, mayor of laguna hills, don sedgewick. Thanks for joining us. This is another crazy things. Looks like california shot itself in the foot because it is not just the gig economy. It is freelance workers, it is journalists, it a whole lot of people who are being forced into a work relationship that the workers themselves dont want . That is exactly right. This entire law is based upon a lie and the lie is these workers want to be reclassified. Nothing could be further from the truth. We have got to see it what it is, call a spade a spade. They are not trying to help these workers. They are trying to help the competitors to these workers, taxi unions who frankly are losing the battle against these workers who are independent contractors and doing a fine job. Most of these independent contractors chose this voluntarily because the agreement works for them. They got the flexibility to work when they wanted, how they wanted, the hours they wanted. It provided them supplemental income that allows them to survive in the california the high cost of living is so skyrocketing frankly many people need the side jobs. With the flexibility that is only way to accomplish that. Without the status they lose the flexibility. Charles we saw articles in mother jones and breitbart. Rare you get those publications agreeing that is outlandish. Uber themselves, theyre lashing out against california in the wake of this lawsuit. They put out a statement saying the state legislators had the opportunity to extend benefits to hundreds of thousands of independent workers in california, a step uber was advocating for and one states already taken, so they passed ab5 using biased and overly political process that ignored workers most affect by the law and granted preferential treatment to arbitrary group of industries. Maybe they will find a to assuage uber and postmates with a carveout. Would you be in favor of that. I dont think they are in the business of choosing winners and losers. I dont think it is the governments responsibility to go in every industry to decide what the level should be. Should we be allowed not to enter into a money making venture of our own choice . That is not the proper role of government. Theyre overstepping. Not just uber drivers. I have a friend who is journalist. Vox runs sb nation. They cut hundreds of freelance journalists. The only option he has to continue with the weekly column to form an llc. If he does that he will be double taxed. Pay tax on the llc and employee of himself as he pays himself. This does not help workers. Charles absolutely amazing. I got to say your state finds a way to mess things up. The gig economy was manna from heaven for so many people. Mayor sedgewick, thank you very much. Thank you. Charles we reached out to his opponent congresswoman katy porter. We hope to hear from her. As of yet we did not. If you dont have enough money saved up for retirement youre not alone. We have good news for you, some new laws in Effect Tomorrow that could help. Stay tuned with a pencil and a pad. Well be right back after the break. Expedia. Fact is, every Insurance Company hopes you drive safely. But allstate helps you. With drivewise. Feedback that helps you drive safer. And that can lower your cost now that you know the truth. Are you in good hands . Charles more for your retirement, of course you are well theres some new rules set to go into Effect Tomorrow that will make it easier to do so. This should of course help the nearly 40 of americans who dont think they have nearly enough money to retire, weve got tips on how you can update your savings strategy, here with americas cpa, dan giltred. First of all i know the book is still doing very well and you wrote the book in part to help people with things like this but a lot of changes every year but more dramatic changes from the trump adminitration. Yeah, well its coming up now in 2020 its called the secure act, so theres going to be a whole bunch of changes that are going to be made to 401 k plans as well as iras so the first thing that is going to happen is they are going to try to make it easier for Small Businesses to be offering 401 k plans, because listen, most people work in Small Businesses, a lot of Small Businesses dont have 401 k plans charles so they really need to make some changes there, and thats one of the first things on the agenda. Charles so Small Businesses can link up and kind of like pull their employees into the same pool kind of thing . Yes exactly and by doing that you could offer more investments and more options in your plans that people have the opportunity to invest in. So thats really a good thing. They are also looking at allowing part time workers now to participate in 401 k plans. You know, charles the big issue here is we cannot rely on Social Security. Especially young people right now. Is it going to be there . Who knows. Charles i think most young people think that it wont be there. Most millennials ive seen a lot of surveys and a majority of them have very little, if any faith that the Social Security safety net will be there for them and i think most people want more than that anyway. So now it puts it back on individuals which i think is a great thing. Look if i had my way id scrap Social Security and id setup a giant 401 k plan, so that you know that the money that you put away is your money. Now, who directs that . We could talk about that later but i think thats really the answer, because allowing government to just, you know, we just make these contributions in and we dont have individual accounts setup who knows where it goes charles. Charles right, and some changes have been made as well . Yeah, so there was a limitation on 70. 5, you had to start to take out distributions that was required, thats being increased now to 72. Charles the point is you have to pay taxes on it . Yes so when you start to pull that money out it triggers the income tax, because you put it away tax deferred but the issue is that at that point, in your life, your income should have come down, and hopefully, under a progressive tax plan, you know, youre going to pay less tax because youre earning less. Charles people are working longer and many voluntarily a lot of people want to work, were living longer, enjoying life more and a lot of folks go home and sit on the porch and they widow for a while and say this is not me. I want to get out and get back to work so youre not penalized when you go back to work and it feels like someone was really very conscientious who thought about all of these things because these are real life issues that a lot of folks talked about for a long time. They really are charles but the singlemost important thing, is using time to your advantage. When youre young, put as much as you possibly can into a deferred tax savings account. Thats the key. Charles real quick ive got 10 seconds the market for next year , you still optimistic . I am very optimistic. Charles happy new year. Happy new year. Charles you are the best. Thank you. Charles we appreciate it too. Folks, its been sort of a sideways market but you could see dow up 38 but it has not been a sideways year and do you know what . It usually changes anyway in the last hour of trading. All right, susan li i want to put you on the spot here because you know, we expect the market to end with a bang. Its all on you. Susan [laughter] no way, right . Youre the best. Youre the best charles payne. Lets take a look at stocks heading for a quiet end, at least thats what were seeing in the final hour of trade to this record shattering year that was a dow and the s p fault erring in this final hour of trade in 2019 but who knows maybe things could turn around were only down by 40 points for the s p and the dow but the fireworks in dubai blasting off live, right there on your screen , right now. The famed display drawing thousands as it does each and every year and yes, its beautiful and now the fireworks not stopping there. Uber and postmates are to kickoff a new year with a legal bang, and the ride hailer behind this years largest u. S.
