STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Imagine a world without vacuums, detergent and electricity to run appliances to make basic foods and wash clothes.
In an ongoing Saturday series, Historic Richmond Town illustrates chores of colonial times that might teach Staten Islanders some new, practical housekeeping ways of the past plus paint an accurate picture on life without modern conveniences.
