Ford switching to Android
Does this mean the car will need a data plan? Android auto uses my phone to get maps and traffic, and that's all I really need on the road. Google doesn't charge for maps, Ford wants $150 to update SYNC 3 maps.

well if you don't have one then at the max roaming rate on att is $2.05/MB
What model are they in? Daughter just bought a 2021 Compass Trail Hawk and it's got the same radio/control head as my sons 2019.
I see this being a joke in a few years. I also see people trying to "jail break" their cars, maybe bricking them LOL.
