As much as we have two democratic senators, we also have a republican governor, so we have voters who are unusually apt to be split ticket voters, voters who are moderate, may be fiscally conservative or socially moderate, willing to vote for a republican governor at a democratic senator, and that is just what we saw in 2002. That is the same voters the Harris Campaign have got to go after in this trip to South Georgia is a big part of that. John is look at the racial makeup of georgia by percentage. White voters comprise 53. 2 of the population. That is lower than the national average. Black voters are 32. 3 , way above the national average. And hispanic voters are slightly below the national average, at 10. 5 . This would seem to indicate that democrats would have a real advantage here among minority voters, but Donald Trump has been making some inroads, at least nationally. He has been Making Inroads locally. The black vote is listening to Donald Trump, but a huge majority of the black vote are still democratic voters. The need for the Harris Campaign is to get those black voters, democratic voters, out to the polls. This portion of Rural Georgia is not just white voters. There is a large swath of more than a dozen counties in south Rural Georgia where Harris And Walz are going to be today that are majority black counties, Rural Black voters, either in the Agriculture Industry or working jobs down there, they have a really different bucket of needs than the Metro Atlanta voters who harris has been talking to recently.
