Travelers based in the Indonesian capital now have even more reason to book a staycation at Grand Hyatt Jakarta, thanks to the recent launch of its new-look rooms and suites by the acclaimed local studio Hadiprana Design, which has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Hyatt in Indonesia.
Akin to what one might expect of a Park Hyatt hotel, the color palette in the revamped accommodation is more subtle than before, with muted hues like taupe, sage green, and blue-gray. Hadiprana has also introduced design details inspired by the indigenous cultures and flora of Borneo: the curving wire-like frames of hanging lamps take their cues from traditional bangles, textured walls and doorways have grooves recalling the fronds of nipa palms, and the full-height headboards are decorated with beadwork or embroidered motifs suggestive of Dayak sun hats. All the reimagined rooms now feature daybeds by a bay window â the use of double glazing ensures that the traffic passing through the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout is seen but not heard.
