The sun is shining, a light breeze rustles buds on leafless branches, and a family out for a Saturday stroll takes in music lilting through their neighborhood.
In the parking lot, a man sells handcrafted cutting boards, a woman sells her own variety of sugar scrubs. An array of artisans and craftspeople are set up outside Hop Atomica brewery selling their wares at the establishment’s recently launched monthly farmers market.
Hop Atomica hosts its next market on Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. with some of Savannah’s finest organic growers, small-batch food-makers, and independent craftspeople.
“Market day helps bring our neighborhood together,” said Mary Watson, the brewery’s executive chef and general manager. “We’ve been doing it about four months now, and it’s nice to see how people turn out to support these independent vendors. Of course, it’s also great we have live music on market day.”
