The House committee on human rights on Thursday approved the substitute bill on the measure which seeks to prohibit discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, race, color, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, sex characteristics, among others.
In an online meeting, Bataan Representative Geraldine Roman moved to approved the comprehensive anti-discrimination bill, subject to amendments.
Roman's motion was approved.
The bill stated that discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, race, color, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, sex characteristics, language, religious belief or expression, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth and other status, and other protected attributes is prohibited and must be penalized.
