How lighting can create the perfect sushi

OPTIMISED lighting is helping fish farmers to create the perfect Yellowtail Kingfish for sushi and sashimi.
At the Kingfish Company in the Netherlands, a major supplier to Japanese restaurants, tuned LED lighting is accelerating fish growth by improving energy efficiency, optimising feed conversion and reducing costs, according to the supplier Signify.
The Philips Aquaculture photoperiodic lights are claimed to allow Kingfish to achieve as much as 30 per cent higher production.
