A PRIMARY school celebrated its 50th anniversary in style with everyone taking a step back in time to the 1970s.
Pupils and staff at Sherdley Primary School, Mill Lane, donned 70s clothes, listened to music from the decade and even ate food that would have appeared on the menu at schools fifty years ago.
Artwork to mark the landmark
To mark the occasion, pupils from pre school through to year 6 created artwork with CulturEd and Alistair Harwood, who worked at the school several years ago, was commissioned to create another masterpiece.
The school has reached half a century
He referenced the school’s heritage including Dream and mining together with the ethos and a portrait of headteacher Tony McCoy.
