Amber Hoye, director of the World Languages Resource Center, recently participated in the 2021 Learn Virtual Workshop as an invited speaker for “A Panel Discussion of COVID-19’s Impact on Language and Area Studies Curriculum Development: A Case Study from the Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad at Boise State University.”
Hoye explained her role as instructional facilitator for Boise State’s Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad (GPA) and reflected on how the pandemic impacts how she designs training sessions and prepares to work with the group while overseas.
Panel participants also included Boise State GPA program participants, Adam Li, and Pei-Lin Yu, who reflected on how COVID-19 impacts pedagogical methods and how their project designs have evolved in light of the massive shift in the educational landscape. The GPA group, organized by the Center for Global Learning, plans to travel to Taiwan this summer, where each participant will create an original curricular project that will be shared as an open educational resource (OER) later this year.
