PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island's public schools will reopen on a staggered schedule from Jan. 7 through Jan. 15 to give districts “the flexibility to respond to their community needs,” Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green said in announcing the plan Monday.
Districts also have the option of shifting to distance learning from Dec. 21-23 if needed for weather, scheduling or staffing reasons, Infante-Green's news release said.
Saying “behavior over the next two weeks will critically impact a successful and safe return to our classrooms in 2021,” the news release urged everyone to maintain social-gathering limits and follow COVID-19 safety guidelines.
