Hutchinson man arrested for kidnapping in weekend domestic violence incident
Police arrested a Hutchinson man on suspicion of aggravated kidnapping following a weekend domestic violence incident.
According to details provided from a police affidavit and read by the judge during an initial appearance Monday for Demetrius Lee Vansyckle Jr., 24, police responded to a residence on a call Sunday morning but found no one there.
Then, about 20 minutes later, the female victim called back, and police met her at her apartment.
There, they observed the 40-year-old victim had a bloody nose and a window in the apartment broken out.
The woman told officers that Vansyckle came to her residence, where there were two other men, and “told her you were going to kill her because you believed she was cheating on you,” Magistrate Daniel Gilligan read from the affidavit.
