Thousands of people participated in two rallies organized by the Zo Re-Unification Organisation (ZORO) in Mizoram to protest against the Indian government's decision to fence the India-Myanmar border and abolish the Free Movement Regime (FMR) between the two countries. The peaceful demonstrations took place in Zokhawthar and Vaphai villages in Champhai district, which border Myanmar. ZORO's general secretary, L. Ramdinliana Renthlei, reported a significant turnout, resulting in the closure of government offices and schools in the affected villages.
