New Hope leader Gideon Sa’ar reiterated his commitment to replacing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, but said that “there’s no certainty a government will be formed.”
“We’re doing everything we can,” Sa’ar told a Knesset faction meeting.
According to Sa’ar, a former Likud lawmaker turned Netanyahu rival, “long-serving rule must be replaced,” as it is “bound to be corrupt.” He added that he turned down Netanyahu’s coalition proposals because “anyone who would have served as prime minister [in a rotation deal with Netanyahu] would have to depend on his goodwill.”
