The Drogheda Branch of the Alzheimer Society has received a cheque for a whopping €1,110 from a Balbriggan woman, who sold beautifully decorated stones she found on her local beach.
Just before the first lockdown last year, in early March, Evelyn Reynolds went for a walk on the beach and as she was surrounded by beautiful stones, thought 'I could do something useful with these', and so she gathered a few and took them home to wash and paint them.
'I had lots of positive quotes buzzing around in my head so I got to work making 'Positivity Stones'. I gave them to friends and family as gifts and the word spread,' explains Evelyn, who was also involved in the craft fair in Julianstown in 2019.
