Japan Petroleum Exploration (Japex) on February 16 said that operations at the Soma LNG terminal have resumed. The facility was shut down on February 14 following a 7.3 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture.
The company said that it resumed operations for the supply of regasified LNG to the gas pipeline network, and LNG delivery by trucks. The supply of regasified LNG to the Fukushima gas-fired power plant, located adjacent to the Soma LNG terminal, is still suspended, it added.
