JNU to start short-term online courses, developing infrastructure for e-learning: officials

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in India is planning to launch various short-term online learning courses as part of its entry into the e-learning sector. The university intends to develop infrastructure to support e-learning, particularly targeting students from underprivileged sections and rural areas. JNU has received a loan of INR 455 crore (approx. $61 million) for this initiative. The university is planning to introduce a massive open online course (MOOC) on Climate and Environment Protection as part of its undergraduate program on Indian Arctic Policy, with additional courses in international relations, political science, social sciences, and languages in the pipeline.
