At 4:18 p.m. Dec. 10, I walked upstairs to self-isolate for a week out of super caution that I might have contracted COVID-19 at my mom’s funeral.
To make it easier, I called on skills gained when paddling in wildernesses or backpacking for several days. In particular, I pretended I was camping in Woodland Caribou Provincial Park in northwestern Ontario where six of us spent a marvelous week nearly two decades ago.
