We told them about a woman who was trapped, all we had was her name evet and a possible address but thats all they needed. Theres multipleim dogs and cats. The home completely under water. Theres definitely more than two feet of water in this house maybe three feet of water. The home owner emotional at the sight of help. Both women telling us how quickly the water started to build. It came in at 5 30 and before you know it its a foot and then two feet and it enveloped the house like you cannot imagine. They head out with their dogs, cats and birds to meet the men who saved them. Thank you so much. How many have you rescued today. These are the real heroes they are rescuing everybody out here. Teaming up with local volunteers to rescue as many people as possible. Its unbelievable. Since yesterday he estimates he has helped more than 70 people and counting. Can you help us out of under this over pass and around the corner. Today we melt a driver who took us to a flooded neighborhood where a woman was stuck in her home, her family asking for help on social media. See the house with the roof collaps collapsed. We found the home and the roof that was caving in. She was displaced with Hurricane Katrina and now dealing with harvey. Ive been through so much, im a war veteran, this is a bad joke for me. But she refuses to go to the shelter doesnt want to leave her pets. Fema estimates more than 30,000 survivors need to be accommodated in coming days. Another concern those in illhealth this woman transferred on a stretcher many will be here at the George R Brown convention center. Some brought in by dump trucks others by the busload. So far more than 5,000 evacuates signing in. Red cross is not going to deny anyone who needs help. First they it go through the Security Check point taking only what they can carry and then make their way to the Registration Desk where they check in with the red cross from there they make their way into that room where dry clothes, food and water is waiting. Spoke with a physician in houston. What kind of injuries and treatments are you going through. For the most part its relatively minor, cuts and scrapes and blueses and sprains, things you expect with people evacuating their homes but also Serious Problems with people not taking their medication for number of days. This woman seeking refuge with her three children took her three hours by boat, foot and by bus. Are you relieved to be here. Yes long as my baby safe. How long do you think you might be staying here . Hopefully soon as the water goes down i can get my family to come get me. Officials are concerned about houstons dams over flowing. The army corp of engineers is sending water downstream to relieve pressure on the dams but are filling faster than they can be emptied meaning homes are flooding, nearly three dozen subdivisions, hundreds of homes at risk. Could be days before the sun shines here again, tonight a ray of hope, after spending hours helpless and stranded. I havent ate in two days. No water. Aisha and her family were finally rescued. Today that water was coming up so fast. My life flashed before my eyes. I wouldnt wish this on nobody. Safe but traumatized witnessing things never should. Once we seen those people die in that water it took a toll on me. They lost everything but have everything they need. Material things can be replaced my life cant. For those people who helped me out i cant thank them enough. I am so grateful. For nightline in houston. Next a family with another child fleeing their town under Evacuation Orders now returning after the storm to see if their home has ban spared. My 30year marriage. My 3month old business. Plus. What if this happened again . I was given warfarin in the hospital, but wondered, was this the best treatment for me . So i made a point to talk to my doctor. He told me about eliquis. Eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots and reduces the risk of them happening again. Not only does eliquis treat dvt and pe blood clots. Eliquis also had significantly less major bleeding than the standard treatment. Eliquis had both. And that turned around my thinking. Dont stop eliquis unless your doctor tells you to. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. If you had a spinal injection while on eliquis call your doctor right away if you have tingling, numbness, or muscle weakness. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily. And it may take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. Eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots. Plus had less major bleeding. Both made eliquis right for me. Ask your doctor if switching to eliquis is right for you. The lincoln summer invitation is on. Now get our best offers of the season. Nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea heres pepto bismol ah. Nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea much of the focus tonight is on the ongoing flooding and catastrophic in houston and our reporter returned to the area where Hurricane Harvey first made landfall as a ferocious category 4. For thousands of texans living along the gulf coast the journey home was full of heartbreak. Theres a hole on the roof thats all we know. They returned to find their house ripped apart. We definitely had some water. In rockport right where harvin came a shore we found christina and robert irdialis. They came back here overnight b but already knew what they would find. Our neighbor called and said have you heard. I go no. He goes youre house is gone. I said what. He said youre house is gone. The couple, both of them San Antonio Police officers moved here to enjoy their future retirement. Do you have insurance here . Yes we hope it covers enough to rebuild. Theres literally nothing left of your home. People would say, just go. Why even bother to clean it up. Were not rich. You know, were just working people. And may look like junk to some but its not junk to us. For the thousands here who have lost everything it is devastation and 360 degrees in recovery. No water, no power, no cells and the remnants of harvey are back through here. For days First Responders have been working the Construction Zone to make sure no one is still trapped. Anybody over here. Outside what was the beach time of puerto ranchis displaced residents lining up braving the traffic in the hopes there was something left to salvage. For daniel weeks, past few days has been excruciating. Were just hoping for the best. She is nine months pregnant on friday she and her husband were riding out the storm with their children in a hotel. One just started kindergarten. Im due to have my baby on tuesday via csection. Does it make you nervous. Yeah very nervous. What about your home . We actually lived in an rv. Were pretty worried that we wont have a home to go back to. By saturday was safe to go outside so the weeks piled into their truck determined to find out what happened to their home. Do we have a house. This is the biggest question. Im trying to stay calm because i know it isnt good for me or the baby. What they saw wasnt helping neither did this. A police road block. Trying to check on our home. We got a active search and rescue so no one is allowed in until after thats taken care of. News that the weeks cant go home to see if they have a home is an emotional gut punch. One that even impacts the children. So were going to go check this out. Youre okay. But authorities would allow us as members of the press past that road block to see the mindnumbering wreckage the town full of businesses, busted and broken. And the closer you get to the water the worse it gets. Oh, my god. Thats the trailer park. Your brain hiccups when you see these things because it doesnt quite compute, the top of a mobile home sheered off as if it was made from paper what appeared to be a rv from this Mobile Home Park and you see a boat in the middle of the street. Entire heiria littered with mobile homes toppled, flipped, makeled. We eventually found the weeks home or what was left of it anyway. Thats what is left of their rv. Thats their suv. This is the worst that they could have hoped for. They hoped that maybe something would be val advantasalvageable. But nothing in this entire mobile home camp is val advantageable. You can tell where there was mandatory Evacuation Order in this town, anyone in this park would likely not have survived. As they asked we brought the video back to daniel and william. You okay to see this . The worst part is seeing all of my kids stuff on the ground. The closer they look, the sharper the pain. Theres his musical toy right there, that was in the house. That was in our bedroom. Better knowing. At least now we can prepare. Two days until the babys here and well be in the hospital, got to find somewhere to go after that point. Now we know its not going to be there. For your convenience we have a website www. Disaster www. Disasterassistance. Gov. They know one thing. The material things are replaceable and im thankful that us and our family are okay. A family that is about to grow. Is it boy or girl . Girl. Girl. Youre not going to name her harvey are you. No, no youre not. Sure you get that question a lot. Her name is laura lynn. A precious reminder for a family that has lost so much, life does go on. For nightline im matt gutman porta ransis, texas. It is raining right now and by the time it is said and done parts of this state could see up to ten inches of rain. One thing is upsetting people is it is happening in the city of new orleans, they have 14 of its pumps they use to keep the city dry that are not working tonight.
