A fifth accuser stepped forward to point the finger at roy moore, who is running for senate in alabama. Beverly young nelson said moore Sexual Assaulted her when she was just 16. Will moore bow out . Leading republicans, including the president , are weighing in. And tonight moore, himself, and his wife are speaking out. Young girls can feel trapped. They can feel nobody is going to believe them so then teens feel that they cant say anything and they simply need to endure the Sexual Assault as its happening and for many years after when theyre feeling ashamed and compromised. Nelsons account the latest in a series of bombshell allegations against moore which began with a report in the Washington Post last thursday. The post was in alabama reporting a story related to supporters of roy moore when we heard these rumors that he had pursued teenage girls decades ago. Three of the women who ranged in age from 16 to 18 at the time allege moore asked them on dates. A fourth, leigh corfman, said she was molested by him when she was 14 years old. There were two times he took her to his house and on one of those times undressed her and undressed himself, touched her over her bra and underwear and had her touch him over his underwear. These attacks involve a minor, and they are completely false and untrue. Moore not only denied the allegations but painted them as a smear campaign, taking aim at his opponents. We do not intend to let the democrats or the established republicans or anybody else behind the story top this campaign. He laid the blame at what has become a familiar target, the media, posting this video on his facebook page. Washington covered another attack on my reputation in a desperate attempt to stop my political campaign. Even went on the offensive again his accusers. Isnt it change th strange that after 40 years of constant investigation, people have waited till four weeks prior to the general election to bring a their complaints. Its not a coincidence. Many women and girls will wait a lifetime or many years to report Sexual Assault. It is not uncommon to wait and forget about reporting it because you feel like youre the only one. In a radio interview with fox news host sean hannity last friday, moore said he knew of two of the accusers who spoke to the Washington Post and that he didnt remember if he had pursued them. Its awful what a coordinated effort that this crew took upon themselves to get tim and the other pledges so drunk for the reason of becoming part of their organization. I am glad that the basement video was recovered and we finally know what went on down there. That was the whole defense argument, we dont know. Instead, previously released video captured hours of piazza in distress, the injured College Sophomore trying to get up and repeatedly falling over. I was saying we should take him to a hospital and call an ambulance, dial 911. Its nice that he had good intentions at the time but i dont know why anybody didnt pick up a phone. Instead of dialing 911, the report says the brothers were using their phone to search for the phrases ifalling asleep after head injury and cold feet and cold hands. Whats going on today . Back in may when i spoke to his parents, they said by the time they saw him in the intensive care unit, he was almost unrecognizable. He was all covered up with warming blankets. He was in bad shape, he was on life support. He wasnt there. The nurse brought me in a room to see them and they broke it to me that he wasnt going to wake up ever. During a preliminary hearing in july, prosecutors say they had evidence that members of the Beta Theta Pi chapter had withheld key information, including these Text Messages allegedly, changed between the frat brothers. These fraternity guys thought that by erases Text Messages or erasing their searches on their internet browser that they would prevent Law Enforcement from finding that information, but the reality is that once a text message is sent, once an internet search is conducted, that information cant just disappear. Prosecutors say the frat brothers thought they could make the basement videos disappear, too. They claimed the videos werent working and Police Worked with the fbi to recover the missing video. That studio now charged with tampering with evidence. There was a text message where nor individual had been talking with that person about deleting it. Theres no question it was intentionally deleted. That will come out in the hearings. The d. A. Said the discovery unravels the previous defense claim this was all social drinking. We know for a fact that no one else that tim was not getting his own drinks and that the brothers were continuing to furnish them. They are refiling manslaughter. All 14 men previously indicted have denied the charges. Abc news reached out to all 12 of the new defendants. Only one of them responded, denying any involvement. I think theres been a lot of questions at universities in the last several years about hazing and what it means and whos responsible. Its often more complex when you have young people, you have people drinking, stories change, stories are not always reliable. Despite the pain and the heartbreak, tim piazzas parents hope their sons story can help make hazing a thing of the past. Talk to your children. Tell them not to get involved in this nonsense. And if youre potentially one of the people that are about to get hazed, just walk away. Have friends with you and make a pact and walk away.
