A police crackdown on anti-social behaviour in part of York is having an effect.
Increased police patrols and the imposition of dispersal orders in and around Little Knavesmire were put in place following violent disorder last weekend which left a 16-year-old youth needing hospital treatment.
Dozens of youths were reported as congregating in the area and local residents complained that it was the latest in a series of incident.
As well as patrols into the early hours, extra officers were drafted into the area on Friday and yesterday evenings.
Officers dealt with one incident on Saturday after older youths were reported as causing a nuisance on Scarcroft Green.
