Jimmy you do and occasionally, trudie asks me to wear them she wants to spice it up a a little bit jimmy no she does not. It was about a long night out in germany no, i had a bassline in my head and it kept going around and around in my head. And it was about 3 00 in the morning. We were in munic i think, and we had a lot of beer and i thought, there must be a a song here. So, i was Walking Around the room going walking aroun the room jimmy wow. And i thought that cant be a song so, it became walking on the moon. Inspired by neil armstrong, of course the great hero jimmy lets talk about my songs. Congrats on this this is like basically, its like your greatest hits, kind of, but more but its different versions of them you know, i think some people imagine that recorded work is a holy relic or a museum piece for me, its just the starting point in the relationship. You get to know a song over the years of singing it. So, ive been singing these songs for 30 years some of them i know where the bodies are buried you know, every night i sing them, and i try and find something different. So when i approach it again in the studio, i have all of that knowledge. My voice is different. Jimmy yeah its richer jimmy yeah you know, with the way drums are recorded now its so different than the way it was in the 70s, or the 80s. So, its a fun record. Jimmy yeah but its fun to compare the two. Jimmy well, i love it. I love brand new day. I love every one of these songs. Desert rose, if you love somebody set them free. Which i heard is written that was written in a Haunted House. Is that true i lived in a Haunted House in north london for a very long time jimmy this is really true . I never believed in ghosts. I was very skeptical about it until i lived with them. [ laughter ] yeah jimmy so, it was numerous ghosts yeah, you would wake up in the morning, and everything had been reorganized in the kitchen. Furniture was in a different place. Bottles were smashed plates were smashed on the floor. And one night i woke up, and i saw trudie standing in the corner with our child. And i was wondering why she was staring at me, and then i reached over, and there was trudie and then she went, whos that . And we both saw this woman and a child in the corner of the room then we found out, it used to be a pub called the three ducks in the 17th century. And i dont know what happened there, but it was a very, very weird atmosphere and then when i sold the house it kept being resold every few months [ laughter ] jimmy yeah cause who wants to be like jimmy yeah, theres something in there, yeah i liked the ghosts. I enjoyed their company. But i jimmy yeah and i was very skeptical about it jimmy did you talk to the ghosts no, i was too scared. [ laughter ] jimmy if i ever feel a a ghostly presence, which i do sometimes yeah. Jimmy no, that was real. [ laughter ] im really here. I hope that youre really here and i just imagine, all my guests are sting thats how i interview everybody. I always say, hey im cool. Or hey, im good with you guys you do whatever. You know what i mean figuring out pretty much what your passion is, and what you want to get after. Jimmy those are like my two favorite genres. I like romantic comedy i like coming of age i do i love those things wheres its like when summer ends, were all going to split up. Jimmy it was i just i couldnt really even, kind of, wrap my head around it i cant even imagine how you felt it was yeah, it was everyone was pretty shocked. And i think, its not everyday you come across a guy like Luke Luke Luke is the kind of person who did everything he can to make whoever you are no matter how big or small you are, feel comfortable and feel welcome and i i think yeah, theres not really its hard to kind of put into words how that makes me feel but yeah jimmy i mean, he was your he was your dad, i mean on the show. Yeah, we had a really close relationship he would call my parents every week, and keep them updated on how im going. Like, if i had a cold or something, hed be like, i got him i took some gatorade to his apartment the other day. Jimmy is that right . Yeah. He him and my dad were always texting each other and stuff. And he made an effort he made such a huge effort from the very beginning and to me, i was like, i dont know like i wish i could be like that. You know jimmy wow. Well, you can.
