Richard engle in Northern Syria with details of the raid. Richmond, good morning. How convinced are we that we have al baghdadi . Reporter well, u. S. Officials are pretty convinced. They are not giving the 100 confirmation. We might hear that soon from President Trump but they are very confident the overnight raid which began around 11 00 local time did, in fact, kill abu bakr al baghdadi, the leader of isis, the worlds most wanted terrorist. It happened on a village on the border of syria and turk and we have been to a half dozen times. A wellknown smuggling village so were going to continue to listen in and well monitor this. Obviously weve investigate a lot going on in the bay area. Sonoma county, the biggest evacuation ever in the history of Sonoma County. We have 940,000 people 0,000 evacuated. Thats right. We have so many people from windsor to healdsburg. We just got word they must evacuate. Theyve evacuated several people out of the city. The police didnt actually went door to door. They got the last of the people out. Theyre saying even the hold outs. It was a very concerning time of what was going on out there. Lets go to the evacuation map. We just spoke with an official in the city of windsor and she confirmed to me they successfully got 95 of their community evacuated successfully. Thats 50,000 people. There is concern as laura mentioned about holdouts, the people who refuse to leave to protect their property, but as the winds continue to pick up throughout the morning, meteorologist kari hall talled about 60mileanhour winds on the floor. You see hurricaneforce winds. The 5 of people still left in the town of windsor do have time to get out. People in healdsburg do have time to get out. Portions of santa rosa are under evacuation. City Officials Say its a lifethreatening situation and they need all those people to evacuate. Were going to go now to our reporter don riddell whosed a the soda rock winery. Just a few minutes ago we showed you this winery on fire. Bob, literally feet from the flames. Reporter unfortunately this is soda rock. Its been around since 1869. It was the site of one of the original stores in Alexander Valley and sadly you can see this entire fa sill is gone. If you look to the right, theres the main structure over there and over here. Whats remarkable standing out here watching this fire burn, weve seen gusts coming in here in the 40 to 50mileanhour range. When you see the fire pick up, you get a set of how damages the whole situation is. Incidentally the kincade fire is a good i would say mile away from us. Probably about a good half a mile to a mile away from us. Im expecting that this fire here is the start of i. I want to direct you to my right. Within the past ten minutes weve had members come over here. Theres a member of the media trying to put out this fire it started burning and jumping over the bushes. It gives you a sense how easy it is to cash fire. Things are so dry and so windy out here. I can tell you driving up here on highway 101, whats very unual, were seeing a steady stream of lights. Remember, this is a sunday morning and you had a traffic jam of cars trying to get out. Up here, really the only people up here are first responders, members of the media, and theres no power, of course, so its dark. Its very desolate, very lonely. And unfortunately as you see behind me, its extremely dangerous. Don riddell for us reporting for us. I did not know, bob, thats a historic landmark since 1869 and now with the heavy winds picking up, just gone in a flash. Reporter absolutely. Ill try to move a little closer because were not seeing the winds we were seeing earlier, but when the winls do pick up, you want to keep your distance. I believe over here to the right, you see that tower. I believe and that facade i believe that might have been the historic part. Now im looking. Theres what appears to be a white house. Rafael, if you come over here, im going to give you another example of how the fire is jumping. You see the tower, the fa said, the white house next to it. Theres now a fire burning at the base of that. I feel helpless. I wish we could go over there and put it out. I dont have the water. I think sadly thats about to go up as well. If youve driven by here before, one thing that starts out from the soda rock finery, you have this rusted metal sculpture of a warthog, just to give you a frame of reference. If youve been up here before and have seen the warthog, you know this is the place were talking about, the soda rock winery. Its so sad to see this structure go up, gone like this, and the fact you cant do anything about about it. Bob, thats so hard. Whoa, whoa. See the winds . Bob, take cover. Reporter were ne. The embers. From our perspective on television, its hard to tell the depth of it. Look at the embering bws as well. Fortunately for us, we have a place we can go. Theres an empty lot behind us with plenty of dirt and theres firefighters, at least i saw a battalion chief down the road. Were not in a situation where we cant get out of here. Okay. Thats the thing. Theres firefighters around there, too, as you mentioned, bob, but theyre up against so much. 2,500 personnel trying to hit this from all angles. You see this, for example, burning to the ground, and the flames just whipping along. Have they talked about i mean is there an attack on it . Go ahead, bob. Reporter well, here. Let me come over here now. Im going to give you another example of how quickly these fired jumped. So the embers have spread over to this bush. You can see theres a dirt lot behind there, so it probably wont get further than that, unless the embers do another jump around. Lets come over here. You can see that white house i was telling you about. Unfortunately now the embers have gotten up into the roof and theyre starting to burn in the ro roof. Whats tragic is theres nothing anybody can do. You watch this and feel horrible for the people who own this property. But were also thankful that people got out of there, so at least the lives were saved in that area. Reporter i see someone from calfire. Im going to try to get them and see what they see far from the obvious. Well let you break away to do that so hopefully you can get more information. Please stay safe as well. Were going to show you now what that winery used to look like. My goodness. Bob redell reporting live. Since 1869. Since 1869 and now gone in an instant as the kincade fire continues to spread. We saw with bob. This is the tower that was burning. Thats the tower he said was up. There its devastating to see. You see that big rock structure tur shay have there and now completely gone. This is one of many areas in the Healdsburg Windsor area that have been on fire now for days. This fire is now at 126,000 acres. The fires growing. The winds are rapid. The fire is quickly spreading. So dangerous. So many evacuation snas so many evacuations. We have 09,000 people under mandatory Evacuation Order is. We have 940,000 people without power. We just really need people not to assume theyre going to be safe and heed any warnings. Were going to check in now with meteorologist kari hall whos continuing monitor the latest right now. We cant hear you yet. Check your microphone. The winds are a really big problem. When you saw them, you could see the em bler bers blow snag and the embers crackling. Bobs safe. But that was scary to see. Soda rock winery up in flames. Its been a historic landmark since 1869. Were going to continue to let bob get information down there from the field thats going. I think weve worked out karis microphone now. Are you there . Yes, i am. I want to show you the perimeter of this fire as it continues to burn and where its located as weve seen geyserville evacuated and healdsburg. The gusts picking up in some spots over 50 to 60 miles an hour and then very low humidity. But then we also have really cold temperatures now that the cold front has moved through. Were seeing really chilly temperatures. Looking at our current wind gusts, i just saw this in the last hour. Mt. St. Helena had winds at 80 miles an hour. Think about that. Thats hurricane winds. Grizzly peak had gusts of 32. Were seeing mostly in the east bay, 50mileanhour gusts there. Thats in the Higher Elevations. Lower elevations 20rks 230 miles an hour. Were rapidly seeing moving air here. Were seeing the winds turn from the north and northeast up to about 40 miles per hour. Were still going to see that throughout the day. Unfortunately as we run the computer model and i take you through the time line, look at napa. 55mileanhour gusts, and thats at 8 00 this morning. Were not seeing any improvement here, and the winds are still going to be strong. Going into noon, were going to see the high wind gusts at clear lake. The rest of the bay area also seeing some really gusty winds. We take you through the afternoon. Still no improvement here. Our winds are very strong. And then going into tonight. Thats the reason why we have this prolonged weekend event that could bring down more trees, cause more issues as we go throughout the day and just one small fire could spread just so rapidly when you have winds gusting at 50 to 60 miles an hour f. Going into early tomorrow morning, its still breezy, especially in the north bay with windsor and napa with wind speeds at over 25 miles an hour. We have wind gusts reaching over 75 miles an hour and the humidity staying critically low as we go throughout the day. Lets talk about why this is happening. Had a cold front that swept through, and now the winds have turned from the north, and were seeing those gusts coming in up to 80 miles per hour. But what happens as that air rolls over in the sierra into the Central Valley and then into the bay area, it descends, and as it descends, it gets very low with the humidity. The winds actually pick up in speed, and so that creates a very high fire condition and very gusty winds throughout the day. When we have these kinds of conditions, theres not much that firefighters can do to contain the fire, so we just have to get out of the way. And then once the weather improves. Then we can go back to try to fight the fire. When we have gusts topping 85 miles an hour. Its best to get out of the way. These strong winds will continue throughout the d as well as early tomorrow. And as we see the fire spreading rapidly, we only have a small window of containment before the next wind event moves in. I hate to even brick this up right now, but we do have to be mindful that we have high winds today. Well see our winds calming down tomorrow. Tuesday will be a calm wind day. But another system will be coming in on wednesday that could produce more high winds once again. And so thats something that well have to monitor as the forecast progresses. Kari, were not seeing any precipitation in our future . No. So far . I dont see any chance of rain going out at least two weeks. Thats tough. Boy. At least firefighters will get the breaks kari is talking about just so they can make some progress on this. 26,000 acres already consumed. We have a new fire to talk about this morning. There are voluntary evacuations in oakley. Theres a fire burning on Bethel Island on cypress road. It was a brush fire that grew presumably because of these winds. The second Evacuation Order this morning. Thats right. Theyve got a lot of hot spots right now. This is interesting that just came in. The city of petaluma no longer taking evacuations. They had a lot of centers set up. Because theyre so overdone. A lot of people there. Were going to continue watching the fire thats consuming much of the north bay. Well be back. Welcome back. We have a special edition because of the burning fires in Sonoma County. So many acres already consumed. Joining us is cyndi foreman with the sonoma city fire district. Tell us what you know so far. Good morning. Well, what we know so far is here in our fire district, the town of windsor in the unincome rated a unincorporated area, were poised for this fire to move into our area any time. There is based on all the fire weather and wind modeling, we are anticipating longrange spotting. Were anticipating a huge impact to our area. We have some really strategically placed equipment. We have lots of apparatus all over the state. Were just waiting for this Freight Train to move in. How many people did you evacuate so far . We started evacuations for the town of windsor this morning at roughly 10 00, and between the town of windsor, unincorporated area of windsor and healdsburg, over 50,000 people. The goal was to get them all out by 4 00, and we had a 95 success rate, which is amazing. However, that 5 that chose to stay, are in immediate danger. There is an immediate life threat to people who are choosing to ignore Evacuation Orders. Assuming those people are choosing to ignore the Evacuation Order, the assumption is they have no power right now, no way to be seeing this newscast. How are they able to be told to get out or they were told yesterday and they did not listen . Well, we still have very active Law Enforcement in our areas as well as numerous Fire Equipment throughout our area that are, you know, still encouraging people to leave. Weve been literally door to door, neighborhood to neighborhood. Our Law Enforcement partners have done an amazing job and continue to do an amazing job. Again, 95 is a massively successful evacuation. However, again, i just cant stress that people that are choosing to stay are in immediate danger. We do want to congratulate you, cyndi, of get 95 of the community of windsor out safely and well just keep praying for you this morning. Well be right back. I have to say, this has been sorry. Go ahead. No. Please fin sniesh this has been a hugely coordinated effort. All of our local jurisdictions, First Response partners, this success is not our own to take. This has been a very coordinated sneefrt were so glad youre all safe, cyndi foreman with the Sonoma County fire. Well continue to follow this this morning. Were also following the fire thats consuming so many acres burning in the north area. Were going to take a quick break, but well be right back. Welcome back to this early today in the bay. Some are posting videos of the fire. These are just glimpses of some of what were seeing. We are grateful to see that people are heeding the mandatory evacuations and getting out on 101. Although, we do have a portion of 101 thats closed right now. Thats right. Ive learned that 101 is closed between cloverdale and santa rosa this morning. We have high winds, flames being fed by them as well. The fire itself, you know, has jumped the area. Jumped the area. Were looking at portions of Sonoma County that are under mandatory evacuation all the way to the pacific post. It was interesting to note. Look a that flag, for example, billowing there. Whipping in the wind. The winds are so high there. Its amazing the way it is fanning these flames. I want to check in with meteorologist kari hall right now. Youre talking huge gusts in the higherle vagss. Yes. We had a wind gust of 86 miles an hour in the hills of healdsburg this morning. The fire is very large and will continue to get larger this morning because of the high weekends fansning the flames. At this point were trying to get people out of there because we cant contain the fire. Think about this. Highway 101 is backed up. So its going to take some time and you dont want to be stuck on the road as youre trying to evacuate and then you start to see the fire approaching. So its best to make that decision early, get out of the way before it is too late. Were going to see these Winds Continuing to fan the flames throughout the day. Very low humidity. Lets talk about the weather conditions here. Its actually very cold. Behind that cold front that swept through, now the temperature is at 45 degrees. And then were seeing the gusts up to 47 miles per hour. This is the observation at kobs mountain. And then the humidity level is at 15 . As we go throughout the day, the high wind gusts are expected to continue. Weve talked about mt. St. Helena at 86 miles an hour. Hawkeye to the north at 60 miles an hour recently. Healdsburg gusting at 62. Novato reaching 38 miles per hour. We also have the new fire in Bethel Island were watching. And nearby in pittsburg there was winds at 40 miles an hour. And then here, 58 miles per hour. Were seeing high wind gusts mostly through the Higher Elevations but also through the valley at times. Were still looking at high winds coming from the north and northeast. We look at napa at 8 30 this morning. Some reach 30 miles an hour. And in the south bay, 20 to po mimes an hour going into early afternoon. This is going to be a prolonged wind event, so were expecting this to continue throughout the day. Well be tracking this with more updates all throughout the morning. Well be right back after this break. We have breaking news at 6 30 this morning. Winds up to 80 miles an hour fueling the flames with the kincade fire. Communities in Sonoma County are fleeing. Thank you for joining us on this special edition of today in the bay. Were on early. Laura garcia joins us because of the breaking news. Im kira klapper. We have evacuations. This is why. The flames are just being fueled and fanned along so rapidly people in windsor and healdsburg are under those mandatory Evacuation Orders as well. Other evacuation warnings have been issuing for gifford springs, whispering pines, anderson springs, holeburg, and Cobb Mountain as well yochl ku see right here. People have been told to leave other parts in surrounding areas of Sonoma County as well. This goes as far as mt. St. Helena, as far south here and close to the coastline as well. Its incredible to look at. Once again theyre mandatory evacuations. They spread across the line with napa county to the east all the way to the ocean in the west. If you really want a good idea of how fast this fire has consumed, were going to check in with bob redell right now. Hes at the soda rock winery in healdsburg right now. This is a Historic Site built in 1869, and its now destroyed. Sadly yes. I was pointing to a house that caught fire. Here we are 30 minutes later. All that remains is the stone, fireplace, foundation, and whatever remaining wood is burning in there. I point this out to give you a sense how easily this fire the jumping. Over there, that big barrel used to say soda rock on that. We were standing by there earlier. We were there. Now its another tv crew. We had to move because the embers are starting spot fires like right underneath this tree. Theres another example of a small spot fire. Fortunately for soda rock finery as i mentioned, established in 1869, i believe this was the site of one of the General Stores in healdsburg, all of it is gone. Were going from right to left. You had the white house over there, gone. As you move right to left, this is the stone facade of the winery. Ill try to go across the street. I dont see any traffic. Its gone. If you remember, we were inside a courtyard on the property. We since left because it was too smoky in there. But there were other outbuildings. If youve driven by before, you recognize that wart hogg structure. Other buildings have sadly burned down. I asked calfire, what do you think caused this . Embers or the actually fire itself . He doesnt know himself. But he said the main fire did come through here. Hes not sure which fire started it buthe conditions out here are exactly what they expect and what they predicted. Heres what else he had to say to us. Well, the winds that we predicted are here. The crews are actively engaged in a pretty intense fire fight. There are a lot of resources being used in between the homes were here. The public need knows were out here, we have crew this place and were doing our absolute best to try to stop the fire and protect life and property. Reporter he also reiterated if you have not evacuated and youre seeing any fire activity like, this get out now. Its commonsense piece of advice. That wine barrel that was just standing moments ago that had soda rock winery written on it, you can see thats collapsed as well. I cant emphasize how dangers the conditions are out here with regard to wind. Weve been seeing these gusts. Feels like 40 to 50mileanhour wind gusts. When you get these, youre getting smoke and embers and theyre blowing and starting another spot fire. Again, this is very dangerous up here. Cal fire did want to reiterate theyre doing their best to try to get ahead of this fire. Right now the fire is winning because it is so windy and the conditions are unfortunately so dry. Its tragic to see. Wait there. Whats behind him, thats what used to be. Just yesterday. This is what it looked like. 150 years of history gone. The kincade fire, the winds that picked it up, just destroyed the winery right behind bob. Bob, it sure looks like youre close to that. You say youre being safe. Reporter yes, we are. Were on the road. Theres fires out here and other members of the media, and we could easily get away if we had to. Its not a situation where were trapped or anything like that. All right. Well, play it safe o there, bob, as well. Looks like fire personnel is headed to that scene. We did see bob aut0 minutes ago as well, and we saw live on air this wind gust just pick up the fire and carry it across soda rock. Meteorologist kari hall is tracking those winds. You said you saw an 86mileperhour gust. Yeah, we did. So thats whats fanning those familiars. You think about the high winds and how exhausting that must be even for the firefighters out there just trying to battle this. But we do have cue temperature this morning. And a lot of the cameras that were seeing out there are just showing these bright lights. So once the sun comes up, well be able to get a better view of whats going on there. But we know that with several different cameras out there on the hills in the north bay, were just seeing it lit up with all of these flames and then the smoke just billowing out from that. Unfortunately thats what were going to see throughout the day because of these high winds. We talked about how high those winds gusted. Mt. St. Helena had a wind gust of 86 miles per hour. Those are category 1 hurricaneforce winds. Were also seeing in hawkeye, 63mileperhour gusts. Novato in the hills there, 38mileperhour gusts. Heelds burke, 52. We do have really strong winds coming through in short bursts. Even the sustained winds are very strong. Theyre coming in from the north. So the fire will spread off from the southwest of healdsburg and geyserville as we go throughout the day. It does not look like well see this getting lighter as the day goes along. Unfortunately as we head through 8 00 and 9 00, were going to see high winds. Were also feeling the gusts in the valleys. The trivalley, the delta, even south bay weve had high wind gusts. Going through the afternoon the models still show the winds staying very brisk as they come in and not really shifting as far as the direction until about tomorrow. So were still going to have these very strong north to nearortheasterly winds through tomorrow morning. Most of the elevations through 1,000 feet is where we see the higher peaks. Elsewhere we have a red flag warning meaning any fires that develop could spread very rapidly because of the low humidity and the high winds. The humidity just gets lower as we go throughout the day. We had a strong cold front that swept through. Now we see a shift in the wind. Its also at times blowing offshore. With that noerl wind and gusts up to 80, its producing the high wildfires. We do have High Pressure nearby, and when you have High Pressure close to low pressure, it makes the air flow very rapidly. And the direction as it moves through the sierra into the Central Valley and bay area, think of the winds flowing downhill. As it flows downhill, its actually accelerating and drying out. So as we go throughout the day, were still going to have these high winds moving through, coming in from the north and northeast and producing those really high wind gusts. And we know that weve been running that information at the bottom of the screen where you need to go and just get out of healdsburg and those areas close by the fire. Also winds are under that mandatory evacuation with the winds topping 890 miles an hour. Once again the strong winds will continue throughout the day as the fire spreads very quickly. Lets talk about whats ahead in the forecast. Well still have the high winds today. Winds will decrease tomorrow and well have mainly calm conditions on tuesday. But then on wednesday, another cold front sweeps in, and thats going to cause us to get high winds once again. And unfortunately our time of getting some containment on the kincade fire is very small because with the next high wind event coming in on wednesday, we could see it shift direction and we could see it spread more rapidly, so a lot of concerns here going throughout the forecast. Lauren and kira. Thank you so much. Were talking about the evacuations. Take a look at this. The traffic thats backed up. This is near santa rosa. Both directions of highway 101 closed in northern santa rosa as well. People are trying to get out. This is where vianey arama is. Well glad people are getting out and not trying to stay and protect their homes. Some Evacuation Centers are at capacity. One Community Center, findley Community Center, has been evacuated itself because of the mandatory evacuation. The petaluma fair grounds is at capacity but accepting animals. The fair grounds are accessing evacuees and small pets. Theyre at capacity with large animals. They can only take small animal sthoos theyve been taking evacuees since last week. Were going to take a quick break. Obviously well continue to follow this breaking news happening in northern Sonoma County, the kincade fire enveloping nearly 30,000 acres. Tv just keeps getting better. How you watch it does too. This is xfinity x1. Featuring the Emmy Awardwinning voice remote. Streaming Services Without changing passwords and input. As you know, all zones, one through ten, are under mandatory Evacuation Orders. I can go through the zones. Please do. People dont know. Exactly. So zone 1 in the county is geyserville. Zone 2 is knights valley, zone 3 is healdsburg and windsor. Zone 4 is dry creek valley. Zone 5 is mark west, larkfield, and wicky up. Zone 6 is northeast santa rosa, which includes zone 7 is zone 8 is see baftable and valley ford. Zone 9 is coffey park and santa rosa nurnd of gurnsle road and steal road lanes exit on 101 and zone 10 is west in Santa Rosa West of stoney point red between guerneville road and ludwig, west of 101 road. West on of 1 01. As weve touched on this as the largest mandatory evacuation in the history of Sonoma County, what are you seeing this morning because this morning is already a different picture than last night. Yeah. You know, winds picked up, and this is why we did these mandatory Evacuation Orders. Just to remind folks who are evacuating, here are some essential items to remember with your go bag. Remember your pets, pet supplies, critical medical supplies, food, carrier, bring a change of clothes and sturdy shoes. Thats important. Remember your medications and copies of all of your prescriptions. Wring bring copies of important documents, for instance, your id, not in your wallet and in person. Insurance, deeds, passports, batteries for hearing aids, of course, your credit cards, atm, and cash, and, of course, cellphones and chargers. And rohish, you are with the county. Im looking at your list. Youold us about your website. You had a list of evacuations earlier when i spoke with you that the Finley Community center itself has been evacuated. It has been. I have an update for that as well. Please. Yeah. So we currently have two Evacuation Centers open. One is currently open. The other one will be opening at 8 00. The first is the Sonoma County fair grounds. Thats open currently. And the marin County Fair Grounds will be opening at 8 00 a. M. Today. However, if people want to go there now, theyre okay to go there. However, the doors wont open for that Evacuation Center until 8 00 a. M. And the petaluma fair grounds is also open, however, its only for large animals. Looking at your list, it looks like every venue is at capacity now for people. Yeah. Were aware of that. Thats something that is a major priority and were trying to address that issue as best as we can. Do you know at this point how many people are in all of your Evacuation Centers . I believe we have some numbers. I dont think we have numbers for all of them. And its changing. Given the fact that you have 90,000 people under mandatory Evacuation Orders, we commend you for getting roofs over many of these peoples heads, and, again, many of those Evacuation Centers are at full capacity this morning, but the Sonoma County fair grounds is now accepting evacuees and the marin County Fair Grounds will open at 8 00 a. M. To accept evacuees as well. Sonoma County Fair Grounds septembers large pets. Marin county, oeft small pets. Youll be able to hold these people for several days. What else do you need from the kmunl and the outlying areas right now who are not affected by these Evacuation Orders . You know, were lending support. If you know someone in the county and you can off up a place, friend or family member, that can help with the evacuation situation were dealing with currently, and the other thing is to be vigilant. You know, if you have to come you know, if youre planning on coming to Sonoma County, please dont. We dont want to clog up the roadways. Rohish lal with Sonoma County county. We want to thank you once again. Thanks, byebye. A lot of people are posting on social media as theyre evacuating. Some are poefsting video of the fire as well. The winds are another issue. We know how they are really fanning the flames and you can tell by the shot here how high the wind gusts are. Kari hall was telling us up to 80 miles an hour. Those are like wind gusts of a hurricane level. Higher elevations. Yeah. Hurricaneforce winds she was calling them. 86mileperhour gusts felt. And we were hearing from sam brock earlier, 50 to 60mileperhour wind gusts. And people are leaving, not knowing what theyll be able to ever return to. Ever to return to. Well be back with more on the kincade fire right after this break. The holidays begin here at the disneyland resort. Welcome back at 6 52 on this sunday morning. Want to get back to the evacuations. The Evacuation Centers are at capacity right now. Thats rye. Its tough if youre in one of these evacuation zones. Heres what we know so far. Marin County Fair Grounds will be back open at 8 00 this morning to accommodate evacuees. Its at ten avenue in san rafael. Although it opens at 8 00, you can head there and wait. Theyre getting crews headings over there now. What theyve been doing since last week, thats open right now. Here are the shelters full. Santa rosa veterans billing. Petaluma veterans building. Petaluma Community Center, and the petaluma fair grounds. The Community Center was an Evacuation Center. Now been evacuated itself because its now in the mandatory evacuation zone. All of the Evacuation Centers are full. The Sonoma County emergency website says if you need a place to meet, you can meet at those Evacuation Centers and head south, but theyre currently at capacity. If you need other options in the north bay, Sonoma County and marin county are the current places that can take people. Take a look at this. This is the evacuation map. People are saying be ready to leave. So many other parts of Sonoma County as well. Goes as far as mt. Stchlt helena to the east and sabbath coto the coast. Once again, these are mandatory Evacuation Orders under way. Most of these people, a really good percentage, like 95 , in bnz, for example, have evacuated from the sight. Theyre the last few holdouts. And theyre saying this is a lifethreatening situation. The one benefit they have now compared to two years ago when the peer people in santa rosa saw this happen, they have time to get out. We knew the winds were coming and the fire was going to be huge already. Over 25,000 acres consumed. All right. We now want to get to our former anchor and reporter sam brock. He has a report for us from the valley floor, Valley Center elementary building in alexander. The big issue this morning, kira, is the wind direction and the winds have calmed down. But they were at 50 to 60mileanhour ranges. We saw spot fires that popped up over my fire on one side, on here toward healdsburg and another toward windsor. You cant see it because its so dark out right now. All of the fire pes knell and Police Personnel zipping down 128 and here toward geyserville, all kinds of emergency people trying to evacuate people. 90,000 evacuations. Despite that, getting all those people out, there are still folks who want to stay in their homes. What weve seen the people knocking door to door trying to get people out who decided to stay anyway. Down this road i can tell you when we were driving up here, flames encroaching on the highway in both directions, the embers picking up. Youll see trees on fire, power lines douchbl everywhere im looking you see trees in the middle of the road. The clear e evidence of the power of the wind are written all over the road.
